A mysterious young man who claims to be "no one special." He seems to be strangely well versed in stories and traditions lost to time and has an unusually large gap in his memories from the last 250 years. He makes no attempts at hiding he's anything but normal but never elaborates further instead being annoyingly vague and suspicious.
One of the traditions Seneca knows well is the lost tradition of pact making. Though magic seems to be dying in this world, rotting away as some people say, he claims that making a pact with "someone like him" is a way to prevent ones magic from being lost entirely. At least until a solution can be found, anyway.

Personality · · ·
Seneca isn't always the easiest to get along with. He's the type of person who seems like he's always up to something and suspicious and his apparent lack of regard for others doesn't help his case. He's the type to never give a straight answer because he believes people should learn it themselves or earn the answer, and he also believes that sometimes the ends do justify the means. Despite how it might seem, though, he does have a good heart and cares for the wellbeing of others.
Open Minded
While Seneca sees value in the past and certain traditions, the last thing he wants is to get stuck in his ways. He's always willing to consider new ways of doing things IF you can convince him they're better. It's also very rare for him to keep grudges. He's not opposed to working with people who've done him wrong in the past so long as he can see evidence that they have/want to change, or that they'll be useful at the time regardless. It's rare but it isn't impossible however...
Deceitful
Seneca makes no secrets that he can be sly, cunning, and deceitful when necessary. If it means a better outcome for everyone, or even just the people he cares about, he is willing to fool and lie to anyone he has to. He has no problems with being seen as the villain, even when it's those he's closest to. Honesty has a time and place, and so does lying. It's rare that he won't at least have a REASON for his deceit though.
Realistic
For better or worse Seneca will always look at a situation with the facts. He will be honest when a situation is really bad or when it's very good, and he doesn't believe in sugar coating. His suggestions for solutions might not be what someone wants to hear, but sometimes it's the only way. He's slightly more on the optimistic side though and does believe there's always SOMETHING that can be done.
Sarcastic
Seneca has a bit of a tendency to answer in sarcastic or unserious ways. If someone gives a ridiculous suggestion he'll sometimes "go along with it" clearly not taking it seriously and pointing out the faults all the while. Sometimes it's difficult to tell when he IS being serious. He rarely means it as a personal attack, though, it's mostly just a bad habit of his.

A skilled and talented mage who was at risk of losing his magic forever. Feeling that Xanthe had a lot of potential Seneca decided to offer him a pact which he hoped would benefit them both, though it did take some convincing on his part.
The two don't ALWAYS get along but they work surprisingly well together. They also seem to have a high amount of respect for each other, even if Seneca's methods sometimes leave a sour taste in Xanthe's mouth.
