One dark and fateful night unidentifiable alien space matter crashed deep into the woods along side a meteor, this goo took the form of a cat as it was the first thing that came into contact with it.  Unfortunately the unsuspecting earth cat was consumed and gave way for 'Prometheus' feline form. He was unaffected by the flames of the meteor's crash and the earth cats watching were in awe at him. 

They named him Prometheus for his ability to harness the human's 'red flower' aka fire. The small group of wild cats in the woods see Prometheus as a protector now so they serve him and bring him tribute such as prey and shiny items. Prometheus, still new to the planet and went along with it since he assumes this is how everyone acts normally. He is still rather clueless of the world around him outside the group of cats that fawn over him. He crafted the meteor fragment with flame into a crisp shiny crystal crescent moon that he now carries with his tail..

'Prometheus'  has amnesia since his fall, he cant remember  his life in space or his out there family. He thinks he just dropped down onto earth to be adored and since all the cats around him started worshiping him, he began to think he really was a 'god' among them.
