While Jinn is not affected by the source or gain powers from that, he is an alien with abilities outside that of the normal human. His specieas are natural shapeshifters and psychics. These are like any other physical skill/talent, and different people have different abilities they'd lean into more than others. For Jinn, his talent with shapeshifting primarily focuses on crafting new forms over replicating existing people/creatures. You won't find him impersonating someone specific, but maybe creating a new identity that can fit within a given parameter. In addition to this, he's good at switching up his form on the fly, adding/removing whatever he needs in the moment, like gills in the water or claws in a fight.

Though some amount of minor telepathy is common amongs his people, this tends to be specialized or grow into a different form of psychic skill during their adolescence. Jinn specifically had learned the ability to shift the perception of those around him. He never did well with outright placing things in the minds of others, but he could somewhat alter others perceptions and what they take notice of. He can't make himself outright invisible in your eyes, but he can encourage someone's mind to look right past him, or to not take notice of an object or detail, or maybe he could make time feel like it's passed by much quicker than it has. This ability's usage requires a degree of subtlety Jinn has never been keen on, so he uses it almost never.
