Time lost its meaning for him.
Death is forbiden for him.
Cursed to live hundreds of lives, always died but always returns to live with the only purpouse of destroy everything. He can't choose, he tried to choose committing suicide several times, but never worked, he always resuscitated over and over again. His other part, The Ruin, always wants to smell stench of death and hear the agony and infinite pain while flesh and bones disappear into dust.
Nothing can survive to his deadly touch. All will perish.
Behind him only devastation will remain. He is the End.
He was an human more than 10000 years ago, when Atlantis still existed, he was a minor lord in in that mythical land. Until the curse reached him transforming him in the avatar of End and Destruction.
Nowadays he walks without direction or purpose, wandering, leading a quiet life trying to learn to live again while waiting to be called again to fulfill his purpose. Since the Middle Ages he choose to take the name of Aiden Quintus.
He only has one wish, and this wish is his own death.
✦ distant ✦ beaten ✦ apathetic ✦
His only wish is to die.
But death is forbbiden for him.
He was optimistic and agreeable before being cursed by the Ruin, then his peronality changed drastically turned him apathetic, dispassionate, sad, tight-lipped and distant. Avoids people, he doesn't want to hurt people if not necessary (when not the Ruin, but this limit is each time more diffuse) so he tries to be alone where he can't hurt anyone. Deeply tired and exhauted, beaten, he desires to die but is not allowed for him. But he is calm, too calm.
He tends to avoid people but people tends to avoid him too because when he is near people can feel that something is wrong, very wrong, his mere presence is disturbing and this feeling increses when they look into his eyes and only see void (and turns in complete dread and irrational fear when they are completely black).
At the beginning he tried to keep the things he though makes him human, he didn't want to lost his humanity, he didn't want to lost the ability of having feelings and don't be just a monster consumed by madness, pain and despair but sadly this didn't work and makes him to be dragged into the Ruin faster. And he locked his feelings into a cage deep, deep inside him and forgot how to reach them again. And his pain and despair became more bearable.
And living with his guilt and self-hatred became more bearable when he realized and accepted he wasn't an human anymore. Now he is just dispassionated and apathetic, and extremely calm, too calm.
When he is the Ruin he is insane, full of rage, irascible and really cruel, but in a way in the outside you only see calm, sharp dangerous calm like the calm before a storm, so calm that it's terrifying, really terrifying. When is the Ruin he may look like a totally diffrent person, actually he's deeply insane but he isn't a crazy primitive monster, he knows what happens arround him and enjoy the suffering he is causing. He acts with the manners of a insane and bloodthirsty person but he is absolutelly aware of his actions and with the only wish of reduce all to ashes.
When he is not the Ruin all this emotions and feeling are buried rerally deep insiode him, but he is in fact insane it's just hard to realize and his inner self is enjoying the situation and cruelty even when his external self acts neutral and dispassionate full of apathy, he just don't want to accept how he is when he is the Ruin (his inner self, his real self).
You can notice the switch between Ruin/not Ruin looking too his eyes, if his eyes are full black with no white in them he is The Ruin, don't try to run, you are already dead.
✦ Strengths
- Inmortal (he literally can't die).
- Vast knowledge of history.
- Very objetive.
- Usually easy-going (doesn't like conflicts) but really apathetic and dispassionated.
✦ Weaknesses
- Pesimistic.
- Very apathetic.
- Lonely. Actively avoids other people.
- Deeply depressed.
- His way to manage conflicst could be inappropriate because he just ignore it or he simply make it disapear, literally, without thinking very much about it.
Middle aged man with brown straight hair with grey locks and deep black (literally black) tired eyes. Square face, roman nose and strongs features. Short beard.
Two moles on left cheekbone, earring on right ear. Always dark and low saturated clothes (black, dark green, brown, grey for example) that cover all skin as possible (except head). Gloves ALWAYS.
His appearence changed when cursed by the Ruin, his formerly grey eyes turned black (not dark brown, black, irises are pure black, no difference between iris and pupil) with bags and his brown hair was filled with grey locks.
When he is using his powers his eyes usually turn full blacl (black sclera).
If he is upset his eyes usually turns full black too.
His blood is BLACK.
When he "succumbs" to the curse or uses his powers a lot (or is very very upset) his skin turned more paler and greyish, his sclera turned black, black vein-like marks covers all his body and a black fluid (his own blood) flow from his eyes, nose and mouth (is basically like corruption) staining his skin and clothes. Black veins and black fluid flowing from his nose can appear when he's altered, upset of trying to control himself (trying to avoid the "beast" go out).
Time is meaningless.
Death is forbiden for him.
He was an human arround 10000 years ago, when Atlantis still existed, he was a minor lord in in that mythical land. Until the curse reached him transforming him in the avatar of End and Destruction.
His curse is the Ruin, the power to raze and destroy the world. This curse was created by the Divine (the Gods) to destroy their own creation (in an indirect way becase they can't do it, go agains it's own oath and to avoid the wrath of their Highness (Divine Authority) and Cosmic Balance repercussion).
✦ NOWADAYS
Now he's waiting since centuries, just wandering.
He meet Anjum in Desert while he roamed aimlessly and they ended becoming something like friends-acquitances.
Anjum allows him to spend all time he wanted inside the Infinite Library cos he knows Aiel will never ever damage that precious space (beause if not the Infinite Library never allowed his presence inside its walls), and Aiel (who prefers uses now the name of Aiden Quintus) looks very relaxed and calm in that place surrounding by books in which he will never meet another person (except Anjum), and to be honest, he enjoys a lot spend time inmersed in the books.
He is unable to die, and he remembers everything.
And living with his guilt and self-hatred became more bearable when he realize he wasn't an human anymore.
He decided to stop fighting againts his fate, he gave up.
He remembers everything.
In a moment of the past he started to write on diaries the things he saw or lived, like a traveller exploring the world, trying to keep his dark feelings away, no objetive in that, just to keep his mind bussy, maybe thinking that journals could be useful for someone in the future or could help himself to remeber.
Some of the journals are stored inside the Infinite Library. Journals are unsigned and without name, unknown author. In fact when Aiel find the journals in the bookshelves he doesn't remember he wrote them until he started reading the notes.
Atlantis was the first important civilization on Earth, was created as an experiemnt giving the humans the knowledges and habilities to thrive fast and be very advanced. But they (the Gods) got bored fast, giving them so many facilities was boring and they wanted to start from scratch again but they couldn't just destroy all the civilization they created just because they was bored of it so they decided to create the Ruin and "bless" a human with it, and then they just sit and wait for the show.
Some months after the curse his wife and children die by his fault (he touches they accidentally) and he went into a deep depression and tried to suicide several times (but he never dared) while trying not to sink into madness and darkess. But consumed by guilt and pain, scared of himself he slowly sank into darkness and madness until in the end he allowed his madness and curse take control of him becoming an unstoppable mad monster, and Atlantis disapeared devoured by a cataclysm. None survive, no plants, no animals, nothing, everything was turned into dust and the barren land sank into the ocean with him on it consumed by guilt, grief and pain.
And his fate was sealed.
Taking the role he was borned for, the Harbinger of Destruction, the Herald of End, The Killer of the World, sometimes called as the 5th horsemen, the one who rides behind reducing the world to dust and ashes, destroying the existence during the End of the World allowing the "Highness" restart the world. But he doesn't only act during Apocalypse, he is the one commanded to destroy cities, countries and civilizations, the one who do the dirty work. All leyends about mythical lands and cities that dissapeared suddenly, he was their executor.
He's basically an instrument of the Gods and the Cosmic Balance (Loom of Fate). Not always the destruction is ordered by Gods, sometimes the future of that land is written in stone and sealed since the beggining, the Cosmic Balance takes him as it's own instrument cos everying in existance is affected by the Cosmic Balance.
If he refuse to release his power (when direct orders except if that event isn't consider by the Loom) to destroy a place having direct orders to do it he will be forced and his pain and suffering will be more intense if possible. If is something dictated by the Cosmic Balance (Loom of Fate) that event will eventually occurs.
As time passes the control of the Gods (Divine Authority) over him is diluted in favor of the Cosmic Balance.
His body can be damaged or destroyed but eventually he will revive, he always revive. Sometimes lost his memories or return very confused, depending of the damage he suffered or the event that cause his dead, but at the end, sooner or later, he remembers everything.
He never ever settles in one place during so long, he's always wandering aimlessly (or trying)

His favourite flower in the white iris, these flowers represent/remember him his wife (when he was married before being cursed and turned into the Ruin) and reassure him.
His pain receptors don't work.
His eyes were grey before becoming the Ruin. Now his irises are pure black.
His only dream and wish is his own death, but death has been denied him.
The name "Aiden Quintus" belongs to one of his past identities. He feels uncomfortable using his real name so nowadays he choose to start using Aiden Quintus as his name.
He can't die, be killed or be destroyed.
Aiel's blood is pitch black.
He barely eats, he doesn't enjoy food, he slightly perceives flavours.
He can't get drunk, but help him to keep outside his head feelings and thoughts that are disgusting or painful for him and help him to keep his head focus and clear. He likes strong beverages.
✦ Divinity (acquired)
Real inmortality (absolute, literally he can't die because is not allowed for him). But can be wounded or pysical destroyed but he will simply revive or heal.
✦ The Ruin, the deadly touch
The Ruin is called a curse, because well, is not a beautiful power (the other couses called ruir take it's nome for this one, the First Ruin) The Ruin is a power that can destroy everything reducing it to dust, all he touch are destroyed.
The Ruin was created as an experiment by the "Gods"for vanishing the land of Atlantis, the land they don't want to exists anymore, without direct intervention because it was forbidden by the Divine Authority.
And works incredible good.
The Ruin change a bit depending on if it used against inert things or living creatures. When he touch a crature (animal, plant, wathever) the crature automatically died (he wants or not), allways. and the area was touched by Aiel skin was covered on a black dust similar to rust but if thetoucheit during morethan a second all the creature wil be transform on a black rusty material before be reducted into dust. He cause a super fast decay reaction on living creatures.
When he touches no living thing he can decided if his power acts or not, if acts the contact area will be coveredon a black rusty patina or be enterely cover on this black patina to finally be reductedinto dust. But his power don't only work with contact, can work in area, really bigger areas if he want. When more sink into madness he is bigger will be his action area. When he left a land his power devastated the area was covered in black rust, ashes, smoke, dust and black thorns, structures can stand but if you touche it they probably disapear in black dust and ashes, or all structurescan stad more orless intact but coverend in the black patina but all life no longer exists leaving behing a desolated wasteland.
✦ The sword, Napheas, Carrier of Madness
Napheas is also called the No-name sword, Blade of the Traitor or Grief Sword.
Napheas was created by "Gods" with an unbreackable black blade, the sword was the thing that gave the Ruin powers to Aiel, they use the sword as a transmission vector to deliver the powers without directly intervening. Also the swordworks a catalyst to Aiel's powers (or other powers).
The "Gods" needed a human to drag into mandess to accept the curse of the Ruin and destroy the Land because they couldn't curse an human directly so they "forget" the sword in human world to provoke it and creating in the way the avatar of destruction, The Lord of Ruin, The Killer of the World; and the human selected was Aiel, he wasn't important, he was just a minor lord in the land of Atlantis, with a very strong moral and inner strengh and who cared about others, he was perfect. And the sword do its job and he was cursed and consumed by the Ruin and his infinite cicle started.
This sword cause madness in the humans who brandish them, well, it's only existence cause madness slowly to all people around it, but specially to its carrier. Napheas was created as an experiment that ended badly so they decided to make a second experient with it and they use it in humans to see if using it can vanish the land of Atlantis, the land they don't want to exists anymore.
Each time he "died" the sword continue in world, sometimes forgotten, sometimes used by someone causing chaos slowly and finally returns to his hands increasing his pain and guilt and usually his madness too. The material used to forge the sword works as catalizer to the Ruin power. Napheas not always cause Aiel madness, it only works as catalizer boosting his "dark" feelings (like madness, guilt, pain and grief) when time comes to make the Ruin powers stronger.
Napheas is one of the things don't affected by Ruin decay.
Friendly and formal with Aiel, Anjum isn't scared about him. Aiel considers him something like a friend and spends lot of time on the Infinite Library reading, walking or just resting in the silence and calm of the Library alone.
