Cody

For the first few years of Cody's life, he was raised by his loving mother, Summer. Unfortunately, when he was seven years old, his mother died in a fire that engulfed their apartment building. Cody was put into the custody of his grandparents. They love Cody deeply, but they only saw him as another Summer. His grandparents were very overbearing and protective of him. Cody never felt truly seen by them, and he never felt as if his mental struggles were validated. When Cody was twelve years old, his biological father, Ebony, appeared on his doorstep. His dad finally wanted to meet him. At first, Cody was forbidden to see Ebony due to his grandparents' resentment of him. Over time, Cody began to see Ebony behind his grandparents' back, and he eventually confronted them about wanting Ebony to fully be in his life. It took some time, but they accepted him and now Cody is happier than ever. 

Trivia:

- Cody's trust issues and behavior were very bad as a kid as a result of his poor mental health and the lack of emotional processing. As he got older, he got counseling and a more developed support system. Having Ebony in his life probably helped him the most.

-He is an expert with caring for plants, but cannot cook for the life of him.

-He loves everything and anything about nature. He'll go fishing with Clayton, hiking with Ebony, and help Sarah in her garden. Sometimes, he'll go off by himself into the woods behind their house.

-He is astraphobic, and the mere thought of storms gives him anxiety.

-His favorite memories of his mom his when she would sing to him and when she would take him to the park.
