Grown on a nearby moon, this Lilac sapphire emerged alone. Her paperwork had been misplaced so that the shuttle transporting the rest of the gems to her colony was late in picking her up- by about a century. She wandered the moon alone for that time, searching for a future where she might be rescued. About 70 years after emerging, her moon was hit with a meteor shower. It caught her stranded out alone in a rather expansive plateau with few places to take shelter. As she bolted for safety, a small stone, probably a fragment of debris from a meteor, hit her gem straight on. By some miracle, she wasn't completely shattered, but rather, the stone moving fast as a bullet ran clean through her gem, leaving a clean cut hole where it impacted. Ironically, her gem now looked like a crescent moon.

The impact poofed her, of course. But, by some miracle, with almost a third of her gem missing, she never lost consciousness. She reformed many, many, many years later, in time for her newly arrived subjects' shuttle to find her. But she was never the same. That stone had taken out a piece of herself. She rarely spoke and her actions seemed robotic. Her reformations took much longer than they used to, and she always reformed in plain attire without personality. She felt hollow. She had also lost her future vision. However, she did discover a new ability. She could peer not into the future, but into the minds of other gems, including those who were poofed.

One day, she sensed a consciousness unlike anything she had noticed before. It felt more whole, more complete than any gem she had known before. Peering deeper, she found it was a fusion of two different types of gems! Most would be horrified at the mere thought, but Lilac was fascinated. She longed for a sense of wholeness like these two gems had found. She spent her days seeking out the gems that made up this fusion, which proved difficult as they scarcely fused for their own safety. But finally, she managed to identify and summon them. They were afraid of her at first, fearing they would be shattered. But Lilac wasn't about to punish such a beautiful thing. She merely sought their secret to wholeness, and begged them to share it with her. Confused, but pleasantly so, the gems fused for her, explaining their story. Lilac requested to join their fusion, to feel that same wholeness they felt. Within themselves, the fusion agreed to comply, and allowed her to join their fusion.

Lilac was disappointed to find that the new three-gem fusion felt... less whole. Like she had ruined something already perfect. She didn't belong there and she felt it. She defused almost immediately, but rather than getting angry, she congratulated the other two on their found wholeness. That day she legalized cross-gem fusions within her lunar colony, and even encouraged it. She craved feeling everyone else's wholeness even if she couldn't achieve it herself.

She personally forges reports to the diamonds to protect her oddball fusion colony, and they were such a small establishment they've never been visited or questioned.
