The Muses

There is a place where souls staying after death, while they wait to be able to reincarnate. Here, there is a machine controlled by Mnemosyne. All souls pass through this machine before reincarnating, it is in that machine they have their fate linked to the fate of their soul mate(s).

For being a difficult job, Mnemosyne relies on the help of her nine daughters, the muses that originated the Greek myths. From time to time her own daughters pass through the machine and spend time in the living world, living like normal people, having no idea of their true nature.

Currently, only four of the muses are with Mnemosyne, helping with the machine. The other five Muses are among humans, living like humans, not knowing that they are muses. Which includes Urania, the muse of astronomy, who currently lives as a human called Ara Sparkle.

Past

 Ara Sparkle was born on July 8th of 1996 in a family that has always provided for her all she needed, both financially and emotionally. She was born in Brazil, in the state Rio de Janeiro. She always had a great relationship with her parents, and to some extent she was spoiled by them.

She has always studied in the best schools, loving learn. Ara was always a good student, she always got great notes and on her first try she managed to get to the university she wanted, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

Her passion had always been Astronomy, but knowing that the course of Astronomy was not well recognized and without her parents support to follow her dream, Ara decided to try another course. Eventually she decided by Scenic Arts, which her parents eventually accepted, not wanting to deny another dream to their beloved daughter.

In her first year of university, she met, in a pub, a very interesting girl, with who soon formed a strong friendship. The girl name was Sarah Nolan and she was a nursing student.

Despite having such different personalities, Sarah and Ara couldn't prevent their friendship to grew and soon became a dating. And with that, Sarah decided to tell what she was to Ara and introduce the supernatural world to Ara.

Sarah is a witch, with expertise in potions. Little by little Sarah managed to convince Ara that she really was a witch and that supernatural begins exist.

Ara doesn't know she's a muse, but she begins to suspect that she is part of the supernatural world. Sarah thinks she is just a mutation, human beings with characteristics of supernatural begins, but she has yet to find out which characteristics are these.

Personality

Ara loves parties and any other excuse to meet people and have fun. Therefore, there is not a year in which she didn't do something on her birthday, be it some big party or just a meeting with friends in a bar.

She has a certain attachment to memories, loving take pictures to record the moments that she considers special and never forget them. Ara has one wall of her room decorated only with photos of her favorite moments.

This is the cause for some fights between Ara and Sarah. Sarah hates appear in photos, but Ara insists that she wants to have several photos of Sarah, so she can forever remember the special moments they spent together. Apart from these fights, Ara's passion for having her moments remembered is a perfect match to Sarah's passion for photograph.

Ara only likes to cling to the good moments she passed, not liking to keep memories of bad times. She prefers to just forget those bad moments and pretend they never happened. This causes Ara to hardly resent for someone and to forgive people easily.

It doesn't stand to be alone for long. Ara simply loves to have company. And she is unable to be content with just having a few people as company, Ara can't stay long without marking some activity to bring together her friends.

Ara is usually very popular wherever she is. Be because of her contagious joy, or because of always accepting any program that her friends offer, she is always surrounded by friends.

She is not the biggest fan of animals, but she is hopelessly in love with her cat, Andromeda. She is a female cat with a white coat with some spots in orange, she usually is very docile and seem to love Ara as much as Ara loves her. Ara named her cat Andromeda because of the constellation "Andromeda, the princess", and she often calls the little feline "Princess" because of it.

Ara loves astronomy, and this passion began when she found out her name was chosen because the constellation "Ara, the Altar". Since childhood she already loved gaze at the stars, and that passion was encourages by her parents. What she considers to be ironic, since Ara gave up to attend astronomy, her dream, because of their lack of support.

She didn't blame her parents for this, she understands that they did it only because they knew the lack of recognition and remuneration that profession currently has. But she also understands the incoherence of letting her attend Scenic Arts, taking into account the lack of recognition of this profession too. Although she likes to think that they did it because they can't see her sad because they have impeded another of her dreams.

Ara never was really interested in languages, but by pressure of her parents she learned, in addition to her mother language (Portuguese), two more languages: English and Latin. She knows the basics of English, she never get really interested by this language, but she loves Latin, always wanting to learn more about this language.

She never thought of using drugs and can not see the appeal for them. Not even alcohol interests her. She thinks she can enjoy enough beign sober and then she doesn't need to rely on this kind of thing. But she tries not to judge those who use them, even more because her girlfriend, Sarah, loves alcohol.

Ara always had many boyfriends and girlfriends, but nothing too serious or that lasted long. The relationship she has with Sarah is, for now, the longest she's ever had. Ara never liked dating, but the relationship with Sarah, free and with no demands, has changed her opinion.

She is afraid of most of the insects and spiders. Sarah usually laughs of that fear she considers silly, but she always helps Ara get rid of unwanted insects. Ara never stop to think about death or about her beliefs. For this reason, she feels no fear of death nor is very sure about which religion she believes.

Her greatest passion has always been star gazing. She spends much of her money improving her telescope and buying books on the subject. In fact, one of the only things that Ara read are astronomy books. She never had much interest in other types of books, despite that Sarah always try to make it read any of the novels that the witch likes.

She tried several kinds of hobbies. She had tried painting and writing, noting that she doesn't have the minimum talent for any of them, soon giving up. At the end. she gave up trying other hobbies and stayed only with astronomy.

Ara never considered to have a favorite food, but she loves any candy that is decorated with astronomical/space themes. She always had preference for sweeter flavors.

She isn't the biggest fan of routines, enjoying invent random activities in some part of her day. Most people doesn't like it and doesn't follow Ara in these activities. Unlike these people, Sarah loves to accompany Ara in these activities, which only strengthened their friendship.

Ara was never interested in learning how to drive and doesn't intend on ever drive. Therefore, she always got a ride from Sarah, who drove very well. She never traveled by plane, but she always wanted to, she likes the idea of getting closer to the stars.

She's right handed, she always had an ugly and difficult letter to understand, much scribbled, and slightly tilted to the right. Ara never had much interest in music, but after meeting Sarah, who loves to sing and has a wonderful voice, she began to be more interested in the subject. She likes the quieter songs, not really enjoying music like rock or metal (that are the favorites genres of Sarah).

She is optimistic and anyone who talks to her is sure about that. For her, the glass doesn't seem only half full, but completely full. Ara always think that things will improve and work out, no matter how bad things are. Sarah is more realistic and tries to make Ara be a little less naive

Her favorite color is the color of the sky at night, but she likes too other colors that remember the sky, the moon and other celestial bodies. She doesn't dislike any weather, but rainy days can ruin many activities she likes, which is the climate that she less like.

Ara really likes the smell of strawberries, even if she isn't very fond of eating them, always using fragrances with the similar smell. She likes a lot too heat and all the new possibilities it brings, principalmente as idas às belas praias do Rio de Janeiro. Nevertheless, her favorite season is spring, when still hot, but not as much as in summer.

She thinks the idea of soul mates incredibly romantic and, if they exist, she thinks Sarah is her soul mate.
