Basics
Corrine is a painted satyr, created from the wood of an old hanging tree, of which many religious martyrs met their end. The wood of this tree trapped many spirits, and her connection to it allows her to act as a medium for them.

About
While her religion is no longer persecuted it is still small and close-knit. She was created by an evangelical priest for the purpose of channeling the dead and allowing his followers to commune with their deceased family. (She is only able to channel those who practice the religion).
The priests desire for a larger number of follows, as well as control over them led him to convince Corrine to channel an angel. While it worked, it left her possessed and out of control of her body for over a year. Eventually the angel was exorcised out of her and she awoke with only flashes of what had occurred the past months. She finally saw through the facade of holyness her creator put on, as the selfishness and greed it really was. Her trust in him was shattered and she ran away from the only faith she had ever known.
Now she is on her own, exploring the world outside of her previously sheltered existence, traveling and creating a new life.
