Blake Cavendish

The Daughter of a Cannibal and a Butcher

Born to the cannibal Butch Cavendish and the butcher Rose Andersen, her parents tried to raise her away from their criminal lifestyle for a short period until their home was invaded by unknown raiders. She was soon found by a Comache hunter after hours upon hours of crying loudly and was brought in by the hunter. She was raised and lived as if she were a part of their tribe.

Now as an adult and searching for their true identity, Blake had to hide from the rising authority of the Texas Rangers and building up a gang of their own called "the Ghost Riders". They live a double life of being both a civilized bounty hunter, and as the masked serial killer The Hunter.

Background

While Blake was not born of the Comanche people, a hunter who had found her after identifying the cries of a baby much like his own, took her in and raised her as if she were one of their own. The Comanche people were rightfully weary of a baby born of settlers and colonizers being brought to them, however seeing her grow up and bond with the other children seemed to have lessen their concerns for the most part.

The tribe knew of her name only because of a locket pendant that was found in her blanket. While still having her given birth name, the Comanche have also given her a name of their own: "Nahimana" or "Mystic" due to her two colored eyes. The girl was inspired by the warriors and wanted to become one herself. She excelled in her rite of passage and by 13 she had become one of the warriors. Blake even dabbled in diplomatic affairs between tribes and picked up negotiation skills on top of her fighting.

Ultimately, her real test came when white settlers wanted her people's lands and would attempt to take them by force. The child suggested that they should fight and keep the settlers out for good, however, her suggestion was overruled when her elders warned her it would only bring them bad blood. Angry at their "cowardice", they argued that if they run, they would never get their lands back and that fighting was the only way they can keep what all they had.

When the soldiers of the settlers came to take over, Blake had been the only one to fight back, and her first kill was the most brutal one of all; and what ultimately sparked the beginning of her current path. The Comache elders were disappointed and ashamed of her decision and gruesome murder of three soldiers and thought it would be best she wander away from the tribe. Blake was upset by the decision but eventually agreed, due to the fear she would end up killing one of their own no matter how high the adrenaline.

Blake would find herself fighting not only in the Civil War as a disguised man, but also take the time away from her home to reflect on her identity. She never did know who the people in her locket were and wondered where they were or even if they were still alive. Her return to Texas after the war gave her the drive to do what she needed to do in order to survive: get money by collecting bounties. She even swore she would have to kill connections in order to get what she wanted.

She adapted to having a double life: one of being a thrill seeking, collected bounty hunter looking for her way in the world, and one of being a horror story come to life under the guise of a hellish Spirit.
