INQ-U1R3, or Inq, was created by Professor Lavithurn as part of his line of humanoid robots for teaching. However, before he could release them a virus outbreak spead amongst robots causing them to go bezerk. The creation of new robots was banned until the issue was resolved and all current unreleased robots would be destroyed to prevent the virus from spreading. Inq, however, wqas already active and developed free will, something the Professor was adding to his robots to make them more human and relatable. He grew a liking to Inq and refused to have him destroyed so he had Inq run away.

Being an unregistered robot means that Inq is destined to be destroyed. However, due to his child like nature he was easily manipulated by those who wanted to use him for evil purposes. One such group of bandits even removed his voice module to prevent him from voicing an opinion. Luckily Inq was saved by a unnamed man who he now travels along side. Inq carries a old tv strapped to his back which he occasionally uses for comunication, though he mostly speaks through sign language or writing.
