Saya

She was a gentle soul, an idealist, a dreamer. And she had made people uncomfortable since the moment her powers were discovered – it was something she had always been painfully aware of. Saya didn’t believe that her powers were evil or a curse, however, but a way for people to better understand each other. It was probably a contradiction since many found her untrustworthy, but she wanted to help bridge the gap between parties that were at odds because they could not trust each other. There were few with mastery of the mind element, but she wanted to hone her skills in order to be at the service of others. Although it was a place shrouded in rumors and shadows, when Saya was old enough to leave home she set her sights on the Kakurishima region. It was a time in her life she would rather forget. She pushed her abilities to their limits and had others turn their gifts on her for several years as she made herself stronger tail by tail. In the end, though, she achieved her goal. She surpassed her goal and became a master herself. When she returned to the mainland, she had ten tails. Despite her lofty ambitions, however, people still eyed her with suspicion. She might never have had the opportunity to show off he fruits of her labor were it not a for a man who was just as much of an idealist as her. A politician of sorts, she stayed by his side and acted as a mediator during important meetings. She only used her powers when both parties were willing, but for those that allowed it, they were able to reach a higher level of understanding. Acting as a bridge between them, she was able to project the thoughts of both parties to each other. It was a very intimate act to lay one’s thoughts bare and it made it easier for different people to come together. It was what she had always wanted to accomplish with her gifts and she feels proud to help others.
