Quinn

Quinn lives in a small tourist town near a foggy lake made popular as a movie location for its history of pagan and occult occurrences. Although the town itself isn't too bad in terms of mood, the weather is almost always dreary, clouds and rain and chill a constant friend. It helps with the spoopy mood, tourist shopkeepers say. Quinn isn't particularly positive since it means he's constantly sick.

Quinn doesn't have much to do with the town's history and tries to avoid it since the town's newfound popularity boosted a lot of tacky tourist stuff he finds annoying. He's just a guy trying to save enough money to go to college in the city proper. Along with his near permanent sniffles, he can come off as distant and snappy with low patience if you catch him off guard. He isn't a bad guy though, just has a severe case of weather blues. For now he does his best to not look anything like the new gloomy witch-y fads going around by dying his hair and wearing bright city clothing.

Despite, or perhaps because of his distaste for anything occult or "magical," his friends and neighbors enjoy poking fun at what seems to be a very peculiar coincidence with Quinn. If Quinn has his umbrella with him when it's raining, no matter what kind of storm it is, it will always calm to a spring shower lasting exactly 13 minutes. The effect is oddly immediate; as soon as Quinn opens his umbrella during a storm, it's like the clouds are suddenly shut up to a light trickle.  Therefore people who know him take to calling him "The Rain Boy." He doesn't like the name, but even he admits these weird coincidences are really handy at times. He doesn't know where this ability comes from, though his mother always seems amused when she hears the weather...

Quinn had some long distance internet friends that he keeps in touch with through texts and video calls. He isn't particularly close with anyone from his hometown so these people are really the only friends he's got. He really wants to move to the city proper so he can meet some of them in person. Besides that, he's otherwise glued to his phone a lot, keeping up with everyone's timezones. They like to poke fun at his affinity for cat-related things, something he swears is only a thing because his mom buys him things with cat ears on them (never mind his plethora of cat usernames)
