An Anxious Love Goddess
Drawing Notes Amaya's items pictured on her full-body reference are required.
Amaya is the goddess of new love and soul mates. Her role is to help to determine the perfect couples and to lead them to each other, ensuring their happiness in their relationships. However, mortals are fickle, and Amaya is not always successful. She has great anxiety and doubt over her abilities and choices, fearing failure deeply to the point of interfering with her duries. She also fears that she herself will never be able to find love, having a blind spot in her powers for what she may want. She is rather shy and unassuming, driven by her tubulent emotions. She is, however, a good listener and friend to those who need it. She is a peacekeeper at heart and often quite passive. She is learning to overcome her own axieties.

Personality
For an immortal deity, sworn to protect and essential trait of mortals, Amaya faces a great deal of self-doubt and uncertainty. It is not uncommon for deities to believe that they are the center of the world and are, therefor, without fault, but Amaya is entirely the opposites. Except for a brief stint of boldness in her youth, she is constantly plagued with doubt that she is failing the mortals or not doing her job to the full extent. To some degree, this is a common experience of those deities entrusted with protecting some part of love as mortals, being free of will and imperfect, will often break up what is perfect or fail to see what is right in front of them. As such, all the suggestion that Amaya could possibly give would never mean that she did a perfect job. She will still have many failures when the right couple ends up not working out with no way to redeem the situation. That which could be perfect often is not due simply to the random nature of mortal life. So, Amaya must try constantly and without break and resign herself to often failing. More than that, though she does not have power over the love of other gods, she still is forced to play matchmaker to some. As such, she fails there too, and is blamed for mistake. She is faced with her failure constantly, and this has led Amaya to constantly question herself and the good of the work she does
Amaya is shy and unassuming for a deity. She insists on wearing the finest silks and on taking care to perfect her appearance but, for all of that effort, she does not really liked to be looked at. It is more important for her to feel as though she looks good than the necessarily have that be acknowledges by others. She questions when others pay too much attention to her and will slink away to avoid such a fate. She can be insecure about her image even though she, as a deity, is fated to look beautiful at all times. She is not materialistic, though her is careful how she is viewed.
Amaya is trusted as a giver of advice. She is the kind of personality who can sit there all day listening to another's problems and never get tired of it or impatient. She is there for those in her life without fail, and cares very deeply about helping them work out whatever issues they are going through. Whenever she cannot help as much as she would like to or fails to fix the problem, she labels herself as a failure even if there was literally nothing that could have been done. She is very caring and a strong listener. She often knows what would be right in a situation though she struggles to voice these ideas unless asked to.
Amaya's biggest insecurity concerns her own love. She has had partners in the past and they have broken up. In her head, Amaya views these as a favor because she is the goddess of new love. She believes she should be better at picking a partner and making something work, even though, as a deity, it is next to impossible for love to last forever. Deities change with the mortal realms and, as such, what works one millennia will likely not work the next. However, Amaya takes these break ups very personally and feels that they are all her fault. She struggles with the idea that she unlovable, even if logic tells her that that is not the case and that the struggles she deals with are entirely outside of her control.

Summary
Purpose
Amaya has existed since the beginning of time. As soon as there was life, she found her purpose. Love was not a force invented by intelligent lifeforms but one innate enough for a goddess to be there, just waiting for her chance to help those seeking new love, their soulmate. She waited millenia for life to evolve to the point where she had a purpose, where mortal life began to seek a mate not just of the highest fitness but for more, for the love they might share. It was then that Amaya was able to get to work. She got herself very involved in mortal life in her younger days, to the point where the other gods would often try to get her to let go of some of her influence and let things play out without her guidance. However, in her innocence, Amaya couldn't help it. She could see where a perfect match existed, and she would do everything to make sure that that pair found each others. It was when one of her couples first rejected each other that Amaya learned the reality of her position; that she could guide, but she could not instruct. She began to fall in line with the other gods, learning to hold back from trying to make just everyone perfect. She has come to accept that she does not control all and that even without being a soul mates there can be a beautiful and unbreakable bond, and that she has no right to try to mess with it in favor of something better. New love, in her opinion, is beautiful whether the pair are soul mates or not, and she protects all of the new mortal couples as she would her own children
Personal Life
One place that Amaya has always been blind to is the spiritual plane. While she can see the perfect relationships and the sparks of love for mortal, she has no ideas nor jurisdiction over the other gods. She cannot see their fates nor help play matchmaker using her powers, her abilities not extending to them. However, the other deities do not truly understand this. They fail to see the difference between Amaya's ability and her intuition: with mortals, she has the ability to see perfect pairings and the joy of a potential couple, with deities, she can only do what she thinks best without the guidance of others. She, though she would play matchmaker among the deities at their request, her pairings were generally less than perfect. Deities tend not to last for eternity as they change eternally with the mortal world. However, whenever there would be a break up of a godly pairing, Amaya would be blamed for it ending less than perfectly. This included Amaya's own partners over the years. She became very self-conscious of her abilities and resigned from the other gods, fearing the harm she would cause by interacting with them or trying to find love herself. She put up barriers to feeling love herself, knowing that it was destined to end poorly and lead to more pain.
Fading of Power
However, Amaya's resignation from love in the spiritual plane impacted her work on the mortal plane. She began to exert less influence, doubting her own abilities, and took every break-up of a suggested couple very personally. She struggled to keep her spirits up or feel as though she was doing anyone any good. Her self-doubt became great, and any attempt to exert her influence left her more upset than anything else. It was only when she discovered that she was not the only deity struggling that her spirits began to lift. She found that the other love-oriented deities felt the same, and were feeling the same self-doubt as she was. It was the platonic love she found with them that began to heal her broken spirits, though she still is uncertain around the other gods outside of her group of companions. She is afraid of letting the other deities down, though has learned how best to interact with mortals to guide them gently, pointing them in the right direction and accepting wherever they might end up. She has not had a partner since though she hopes to be able to open herself up to such love once again.
