Winifred Bellwood

Winifred is a girl who lived in fallout shelter #48. The shelter's purpose was to extend human life and humans ability to survive in harsh situations, the final goal being immortality and invulnerability. Winifred was one of the "Forever Children" worked on. Her batch of children grow 2 years slower then normal children on average. Not that big of a change but was closer to their goal then before. The children also had raised stamina, which excited the scientist.

However the shelters goal of immortality was cut short when a group of raiders destroy the fallout shelter and kill or kidnap anybody they could find. Winifred left out with a few children who she was teaching at the time with her friend/crush, Bernard. Bernard leaves one way, Winnifred the other, and she ran with the children before they all slept in a hole during the night. She ended up fainting from staying up all night, watching over the children. Luckily they were all found by two men taking the children to a place called "Isleton".

Isleton was a private fallout shelter made for a pre-apoclyptic billionaire for when the worse happens. However his family were on a plane with the bombs came down and never got to the island. It was found by wanderers years later and slowly became a walled city for men, women and children to live a close-to-normal life. The city, however, has more children then it does adults because of the many orphans who find their way there. 

Winnifred begins to take care of some of the orphans in Isleton while trying to find out where the people who lived in her shelter are.
