History: Apple Crescent was born into a strict, royal, family long after the reign of Twilight Sparkle. Her mother was an alicorn and her father was the royal advisor. Everyone, including her own parents, were stunned when Apple Crescent was born as a normal unicorn. That didn’t deter her family for long- as they were adamant that their daughter would become the next princess. They couldn’t imagine ‘some commoner’ taking over the crown. They felt that it would bring them much scorn from other places in the world.

However, they couldn’t dictate their daughter’s destiny. As a young filly, she took an interest in becoming a pastry chef. She didn’t want to simply be a princess. She wanted to do something with her life. Whenever her parents weren’t around, she often visited the pastry chef and begged him to teach her how to bake things. At first, he ignored her, as he was given strict orders not to pay attention to her. Eventually, he warmed to her pleas and started teaching her how to bake behind her parents’ back. It was then that she gained her cutie mark, after being taught how to make apple crescent rolls. When her parents found out they were infuriated and swiftly fired their pastry chef and punished their daughter.

Apple Crescent was discouraged for several years until she became a teenager. Secretly, however, she continued to cake and perfect apple crescent rolls. She found a secret passageway under her bed. This passageway brought her underground and straight to the Crystal Empire. She wasn’t able to stay in the Crystal Empire, however, as most ponies recognized her from the neighboring kingdom. Thus, she had to travel further, eventually settling in Vanhoover. It was there that she opened her Apple Crescent Pastry Shop. Not only did she sell apple crescent rolls, which were her main specialty, but she also made: apple pie, apple turnovers, apple tarts, apple cheesecake, apple dumplings, apple strudel, and other apple-related desserts.
