Cooya

Cooya is confident, outgoing, and talkative. She is good at getting what she wants through words, and she is known to lie, seduce, intimidate, and bargain her way through situations. She would much rather talk her way through danger instead of just fighting. However, she is a skilled fighter, with a mastery in swords. She has a deep love for adventure, exploring, and collecting. She doesn't trust easily anymore, but loves those who are close to her deeply and protects them the best she can. She is not easily offended or fazed, though if she loses her grip on a situation, she can panic quicker. She doesn't think through things completely all the time but takes a very logical and objective approach to problems. She has a snarky, conniving streak to her and loves treasure and swiping small items, which has gotten her into trouble multiple times. She does not understand magic, and doesn't trust it very easily, either.

Cooya was born in raised in a small village, Chisana Hane. She worked for her mother, who was a very skilled tapestry maker, though she herself didn't like the work very much. When she was 10, her father abandoned her and her mother. She became very resentful and rebellious, going out trespassing and exploring, much to the dismay of her mother. When she was 18, she left, becoming a sailor. She started out as a deckhand but worked her way up in the ranks, becoming second mate to a ship called the Silver Quill. She met Jinny there, a deaf harpy, and the two fell in love. One of the other crew members, who wanted to be the second mate, told her a lie about how they were going to overthrow the captain of the ship and she would be the new captain. However, when the time came, Cooya was the only one who acted. The captain accused her of mutiny and kicked her off the ship, marooning her on a small island off the coast of Isvulgard. To her knowledge, Jinny betrayed her and helped the others get rid of Cooya, though she still wears the ring that Jinny had given her -- a promise to marry someday that never came true. Cooya flew all the way from her island to a lighthouse on the mainland, and from there she flew to a small town. Embarrassed and with her dreams crushed, she decided to start taking life seriously, working for four years. She met Oris and Mimir, and the three decided to join the Adventurer's guild to rekindle her love of adventure.
