Jasper

Professional weirdo and renowned town crazy. He has mysterious magic abilities that he doesn't have perfect control over, though most of them are fairly subtle - mostly inhuman capabilities rather than anything super flashy. He's well-known for unnecessary petty crime and spouting nonsense about monsters.

Jasper doesn't just have these powers, though; he deals with the consequences in the form of intrusive thoughts and random outbursts and blackouts. He regularly wakes up in the woods bloodied and lost, and constantly fights a desperate urge to hurt himself, other people, or to destroy things.

He gets jittery when he isn't smoking and blasts through an alarming amount of cigarettes. He has long since lost his sense of self-preservation and his will to live is irreparably crippled, but he's not a depressed nihilist more than he is willing to live it up beyond reason and take the stupidest risks. He's here for a good time, not a long time.
