◓ Peyton

Peyton was born in Sinnoh to an immigrant couple from Alola, in an area he would learn the hard way had neither patience nor tolerance for his illusion abilities. His worryingly good control over them aside, Peyton's stubbornness landed him in hot water almost every other day; his attitude and insistence on being treated with basic respect pushed the buttons of everyone he encountered, and he faced severe discrimination for his species and abilities.

Naturally, his response to this mistreatment was to get rowdier and nastier. This did not sit well with the residents of his birthplace, who took it as vindication for their prejudice and expelled Peyton from schooling - and then drove him out of the town by stoning him half to death at the tender, tender age of twelve.

Bitter and angry, Peyton resolved to travel to Galar to finish his education, after reading a newspaper story about a school created by a famous magician duo of Grimmsnarl and Hatterene. Old habits died hard; he was still rowdy, sassy, and insolent, constantly on guard against the next person to show even a hint of distrust against him. He was certainly disliked by the teachers - blatantly sleeping in class will do that - but nothing could be said. He was book smart beyond his years. After raising the money, his mother and baby brother followed him to Galar, and life seemed to be righting itself.

But of course, as with all stories, there must be a rise before a fall.

Peyton's remaining family were killed two years after joining him in Galar in the biggest anti-illusion scandal of Galar's history. Though it went so far as to have the headmasters of the school involved, nothing could quell Peyton's bubbling, brewing rage - what could they possibly understand? That was all he had, gone, and gone for no reason other than what they were born as.

Peyton became volatile, dangerous, and reckless, involving himself with people and places that were even worse news than the death of his family. Somehow, he kept himself grounded enough to avoid completely snapping; he had promised his mother he would at least finish his schooling. But after graduation, general unrest and prejudice was on the rise; breaking under the pressure of whispers and mistreatment by everyone he seemed to encounter, Peyton stole one of the most important artifacts the school's primary beneficiary possessed for his own ends. Well aware of the gravity of his crime, he fled back to Sinnoh to look for a job.

In his flight, Peyton accidentally disguised himself as a different criminal; when he stepped off the boat, he was instantly captured and interrogated by a Sinnoan mafia. After revealing himself, he was invited to join the organisation, and began his descent into the dark world of crime.

He rose through the ranks fast, his trickery and stealth lending themselves smoothly to what was asked of him. Soon, though, he found himself bored of the intimidation and thefts he was assigned to complete; as an exchange, he landed himself an infinitely more active position under the international mafia head Carchacrok. His career as a hitman had begun.

Whilst working for Carchacrok, he found himself in a relationship with a woman who promptly used him for his money in order to boost herself through the ranks of her own job. Agonised, they broke up - violently - and Peyton took a long leave of absence to organise his thoughts.

Firstly, a good holiday was in order. He flew to Alola, ready to relax and party a few months of his life away... but found himself near-instantly roped into an Island Challenge with some new battlers. Seeing their... well... frankly their uselessness in a fight and complete lack of teamwork, he decided to stay on not only for the hell of it but to beat some shape into their synergy. Somehow they decided to make him the official leader of the team.

Nowadays, after the Island Challenge was completed, Peyton takes on odd assassination or intimidation jobs in and around Alola to keep himself amused and afloat - But he spends most of his time guiding his new teammates and keeping them out of trouble.
