Ippis

The half-Orc half tiefling kid Ippis is one of my newest additions to my roster of D&D related characters.
He will be used in an campaign made and GMmed by a friend of mine. He is a level 10 Gloom stalker ranger with an dragon companion Wanda. To have an good explanation for him being so skilled in such a young age, he has a dragon gods blessing with him which sounds silly yes but hear me out!

Ippis is an sunny optimist even about the things he has no understanding of. His childlike wonder is what makes him highly curious and makes him ask a lot of questions when he doesn't understand something. He endears himself to everyone, even more so if he is disliked. He has a pretty bad understanding of the value and meaning of many things, one being money. So he has a lot to learn and grow especially on his morals.

✦ Appearance

Ippis has red-ish skin and two small horns growing from the top of his head, accompanied by a rat like tail that has a fuzzy tail tip of brown hair. These traits originate from his tiefling roots. He also has a big nose, a round face and even rounder eyes, bushy brows, pointy ears with soft tips instead of pointed ones. What definitely could be taken as an orc trait is the large fang that points upwards from his lower right jaw. The fang pushes out even when his mouth is closed. For his physical build, Ippis is like any other kid, just a bit more bulkier with having pretty strong legs and a tight grip for his age. He usually sports a few dozen bruises and small scratches on his knees, elbows and forehead.

Ippis doesn't remember much from the times he actually got to spend in the orc village he was born in. His parents were a set of young troublemakers in an forbidden relationship, delivering on forbidden deeds that were hurting the community as a whole. When those two got pregnant the villagers were set on throwing the couple behind bars and taking their firstborn as an punishment for their crimes.
The people weren't too keen on keeping the kid though nor did they ever bother giving him proper education aside from teaching him how to hold a bow. He was expected to be nothing more but a menace to the society as a whole as they'd grow just like their parents so he was to be outcast sooner or later. That happened at the ridiculous young age of five for Ippis.

Alone, barely able to sustain his hunger or balance any other of his needs, he was soon weak as a kitten left to the streets, wandering the harsh terrains of the forest that got him hopelessly lost, waiting for an miracle and naively calling out for someone to reach out.
Without his childlike determination, he would've perished.
Maybe it was his will to go on and hardheadedness to prove himself of worthy that reeled in the attention of an rather curious natured god/goddess. This entity was something of a dragon kind and saw him worthy of a blessing.
So came forth a hermit of the forest, marked to follow the word of the god and leave her lair to protect this blessed individual. To guide him and teach him to be righteous, strong and lawful. To protect other innocent and punish those who sinned.

..Of course it took a while for them both to understand each other and just work together but they never game up. The dragon who Ippis eventually dubbed as Wanda developed a motherly instinct to care and protect this kid. Both of them had more than one reason to stick by each other and quickly became inseparable.
Thanks to the blessing, Ippis became a natural at hunting and using that bow he had previously so little experience of. That blessing greatly improved his learning abilities. He could've taken on the best of archers of great Eminor and raise superior at the young age of ten. Not that he ever acknowledged just how good he was. He was a humble kid, greedy of so little things such as anything that shined or just looked pretty.

He aspires to protect those who would be thrown into his situation otherwise. To stop certain evil before it would hurt more than ever necessary. That how Wanda raised him and he wouldn't go against her will... Most of the time.. He is a kid after all, with no proper moral compass yet he is bound to do questionable  things at times, not like it wasn't in his blood to begin with anyways-
