Atsuhi Saeki

"I don't see these scars as a result of anyone's mistake. Not mine, and not yours either. To me, they're more like a reminder. A reminder that if I don't give it my all, I won't be able to protect others from feeling the same pain I felt."

Portrayal

Atsuhi Saeki (冴 希 斡火 Saeki Atsuhi), also known as Atsuheat (アツヒート), is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero. She is the protagonist of Explosive Touch.

Apperance

Atsuhi is a young girl of average height and petite build. Her eyes are large and somewhat round, their irises a light green color, with thick upper eyelashes, and three more individually pronounced lower eyelashes. She has long strawberry blond hair that is normally tied into two braids, which rest on both her shoulders. Her bangs are long and parted on the right side, with a wide chin-length piece hanging to the left side of her face, and a narrower shoulder-length piece, which she sometimes tugs behind her ear, hanging to the right

At school, she wears the standard UA uniform, just with black thigh-highs instead of the usual knee-high socks worn by most of her other female classmates.

Her hero costume consists of a sleeveless purple jumpsuit, with the lightest shade of purple starting at the top and running down to her bust. The second lightest shade runs down the middle of her torso and legs both at the front and at the back. She wears long gloves in purple and yellow, which start at her biceps and fully cover her thumb and pointer finger, then switch to a fingerless design for the remaining three fingers; they leave just enough of her palms uncovered for her to be able to use her Quirk. Her shoes are also a part of the jumpsuit, as it has hard soles and a small heel attached. Her costume also has a purple belt, which carries four small containers used to store her miniature grenades, and elbow and knee pads. A short plated skirt, attached to her belt, wraps around most of her body, beginning from her side and ending at the center of her belt. She sometimes wears a pair of protective glasses tinted yellow, which wrap around her head with a purple ribbon. The fabric of her costume is designed to be extremely heat-resistant, allowing her to touch objects for a long time before their abnormal temperatures begin to affect her.

Personality

15349112_Lq8Qv6cQCzkxqcJ.png?1563897114

Atsuhi is a bubbly and outgoing girl, often smiling, laughing, and staying cheerful even in boring or concerning situations. Sometimes she feels a little shy when meeting a person for the first time, especially if they're very confident and more outgoing than her, or are older and as such deserve more respect, whereas when a person is acting awkward or has trouble talking to others, she finds it easier to approach them, trying to help them have a proper conversation. At the beginning, Atsuhi is also frequently embarrassed of Bakugo's antics and has to apologize to people for his actions. As the story progresses, however, this becomes something of a second nature to her, as she has both an easier time keeping his fiery personality under control, and asking people to forgive him for it.

The more people Atsuhi is surrounded by, the smaller the chance one of them will see her wear anything other than a smile on her face. She always feels the need to bring some joy and happiness, leading to the atmosphere being more lighthearted whenever she is near. When reassuring other people, she is always optimistic and wants them to know they can get through whatever it is that is tormenting them without fail. This, however, is never the full truth.

In reality, while she can sometimes be very optimistic, she has a habit of running through many bad situations in her mind, leaving her especially worried. This leads to a lot of useless anxiety in her day-to-day life but is especially important under dangerous or even life-threatening circumstances. In such cases, this overthinking serves to remind her that winning isn't a given and prepare her for the worst possible outcome, the thought of which is often what inspires her to suck up her fear and act.

Since the loss of her mother, Atsuhi has had a lot to grieve about. She felt sad for a long time afterwards, but eventually realized she had to move on. Since then, Atsuhi doesn't feel sad very often, the only such instances typically brought about by happy memories and her subsequent realization those moments are forever in the past. Even then, she can sometimes look at it all from a brighter side, choosing to treasure them and the pain they bring. She strives to hide any sadness she might be feeling from others - a habit that she was forced to confront when Bakugo brought it up. And although he has told her to stop hiding her pain away, this is something she still struggles with.

In battle Atsuhi lacks a lot of confidence, yet can still push through, even if for others' sake, as she most notably did when facing off against the Hero Killer, deciding that she shouldn't give up only after remembering the words of her mother and Bakugo. She is hesitant to mindlessly risk her life if she has enough time to consider the dangers of the situation, but is also capable of acting on impulse, especially when someone is in need of saving.

Atsuhi's plans are often made as spur-of-the-moment decisions, usually quite simple and concise, as long drawn-out battle strategies aren't a very strong side of hers. As such, she is often unpleasantly surprised when things don't go according to her plans. In the worst case scenarios, she is left extremely vulnerable or is injured badly, leading to her sudden drop of confidence, which is often followed by a great deal of fear. When faced with something she is afraid of, Atsuhi has a habit of freezing in place at first, staring while horrible thoughts are running through her head. Most of the time, however, she is able to snap out of it before it's too late.

Atsuhi finds great comfort in the presence of her friends, who, since her entering UA, consist primarily of Bakugo, Kirishima, and Uraraka but also Ashido, Kaminari, and Midoriya on occasion. Particularly with Bakugo, she is fine leading the conversation, as long as she feels he doesn't mind. Ever since realizing her feelings for him, however, she acts more jumpy and awkward at times, leading to a lot of teasing from Kaminari and especially Kirishima.

Atsuhi's greatest inspiration that has led her to the path of becoming a hero are her parents - the pro heroes Hiyamiku and Lava Floor. She has seen them perform their heroic duties ever since she was a child and as such has witnessed many sides of that job. In her eyes, they are the greatest heroes out there, and she strives to one day become like them so she too could save people the way they do and bring smiles to everyone's faces. She has never really stopped to consider any other options for her future either, even after the incident with her mother. For her, this is the only path she can take.

Abilities

Overall Abilities: Atsuhi does not appear like a physically strong individual. That, combined with the simple and seemingly not highly-applicable nature of her Quirk and her somewhat air-headed behavior might make her look like an easy opponent. Contrary to that, however, she possesses many abilities to aid her in battle. While not good at detailed long-term plans, she can easily make up short and simple attack strategies, especially in situations where her initial plan of action fails, as demonstrated in her fight against Ida in the Sports Festival, where he began carrying her towards the edge of the field before she could even execute her first move.

Although simple and similar, her strategies and applications of her Quirk are highly-effective, serving her to aid in the defeat of the Sludge Villain, destroy robots in the UA Entrance Exam, and defeat any weaker villains, all using the same technique. Another reason for the success of these simple strategies is her incredible speed and swift movements, which surprised even Todoroki during his fight against her in the Sports Festival.

Atsuhi possesses knowledge on a wide range of academic subjects as well, specifically physics, and chemistry, as they have proven to be a great aid when coming up with new applications of her Quirk. She is also great at playing a supporting role in battle, both helping the main fighter in whatever way she could with her Quirk, while also taking care of smaller foes in the background. When she does have to stand her own ground in a fight, she is determined and ready to push her body to the limit.

Something which has occasionally come to her aid as well is her relatively wide knowledge of some pro heroes and villains, coming from the many stories her own parents have told her about different fights and team-ups they've had. As such, she has also heard of the wide range of Quirks those people posses and is great at accessing what a person's Quirk might be by seeing just a part of their abilities.

  • Enhanced Speed: Atsuhi's movements are swift and quick, demonstrated especially during the Obstacle Course Race from UA's Sports Festival, where she was able to stick close to the first positions while having no way to use her Quirk to actually enhance her speed. This ability gives her a slight advantage in battle, where she needs this initial boost so that she can surprise her opponent by lending a touch on them at the very start of a fight. This, coupled with the fact that she needed a way to make up for her lack of physical strength, are the most likely reasons she trained and developed such an ability.
  • Enhanced Stamina: With the main physical drawback of her Quirk being that it drains her energy, Atsuhi is used to fighting battles at low stamina. After years and years of usage, she has been able to preserve her energy longer and still be able to move and fight even when said energy is running low. While her movements become more sluggish, Atsuhi is still able to preserve her rational thoughts and for the most part her quick reflexes too. She is also much better at any type of endurance training and more tiresome activities than a majority of her classmates. Some girls from her class have jokingly noted that if the entirety of 1A were to run a marathon without using their Quirks until there's only one person left standing, Atsuhi and Bakugo might end up butting heads for the winning position.

Keen Intellect: While not good at complex strategies and plans, Atsuhi is excellent at quickly accessing an opponent's Quirk, its potential strengths and drawbacks, all the while coming up with a good counter strategy on defeating them using her own Quirk. She is also great at making use of the space around her and especially any objects at her disposal to aid in her fight.

Since she struggles with long-range attacks, she is also skilled at coming up with ways to close in on her opponents either unnoticed or too quickly for them to have time to react. She is good at judging other people's strategies, especially due to her habit of immediately jumping to the worst-case scenario she could imagine.

Outside of fighting, she is also academically smart, keeping a decent sixth place in the mid-term exams. She is especially versed in subjects and topics that have something to do with her Quirk, like the physics of objects when their temperature is changed, or the behavior of different substances under different circumstances. This is especially evident in the design of her small grenades, which are created based on the principle that gases expand when they are heated up. Another application of this knowledge, is her ability to slightly affect the temperature of liquids and gases through diffusion.

  • Medical Knowledge: Due to the nature of her Quirk, Atsuhi is always interested in ways for it to be applied in first-aid situations. As such, she has medical knowledge that is both related to the usage of her Quirk and such that has nothing to do with it. Because of this, in a situation where someone is injured, she is immediately ready to jump in and help, just as she did at the end of the UA Entrance Exam, when she tried to help Midoriya until Recovery Girl's arrival.
  • Support Skills: Atsuhi can easily access how her Quirk can benefit someone depending on their abilities. She is always eager to provide help and takes great care to assure others' well-being. She can also easily provide support on a plan she considers good and is willing to provide advice when it sounds unachievable. Her support skills are especially evident whenever she fights alongside Bakugo, as she is almost always using her Quirk to enhance his abilities (which she sometimes does without being asked to, leading to her getting tired out in a fight much more quickly), which was the very reason he approached her in the first place.

Quirk

Heat Touch (ヒートタッチ Hīto Tatchi): Atsuhi's Quirk allows her to regulate the temperature of any solid object or even a living creature she touches with the palm of her hand. She can do so by keeping her hands on the target, which exerts little to no energy, or by touching it once and then losing contact. The latter method, however, drains her stamina at a very fast rate. As long as she's touched something at least once, she can regulate its temperature at will, as long as it never moves more than 50 meters away from her (though she herself has noted that the moment the distance becomes greater than 30 meters, she already has trouble being very precise). Once something leaves that radius, she has to touch it again to reactivate the effect of her Quirk. While Atsuhi can touch many objects that are within the 50 meter radius and choose which ones to actually affect, or even switch between them at random, she cannot use her Quirk on more than two at the same time.

Atsuhi has never actually tested how low the temperatures she can reach are, but she can easily give someone frostbite or even make them suffer hypothermia. She finds it much easier to increase temperatures, rather than decrease them. (An example Atsuhi herself gave, is that if she were presented with an object whose temperature was 40 degrees, it'd be much easier for her to bring it up to 60, than to bring it down to 20, even though the difference is technically the same.) As such, she can reach higher temperatures more easily and her upper limit is definitely greater.

She can choose whether she uses her Quirk on the entire object (for example when she increases a person's body temperature) or she can also concentrate its effects on the single sport where her palms touched the object or person. The latter was most prominently showcased in USJ when Shigaraki Tomura reached out his hand to use Decay on Atsuhi, who in turn gripped his wrist and concentrated the effect of her Quirk in that single spot, leaving burn marks on Shigaraki's skin.

Super Moves

  • Heat Touch(ヒートタッチ Hīto Tatchi): The most basic of moves, sharing the same name as Atsuhi's Quirk. The move consists of touching her opponent and changing their body temperature (typically still within a not life-threatening range), so as to either distract them long enough for her or someone else to land a hit, or, in cases where she changes the temperature to something more extreme, to temporarily incapacitate her opponent.
  • Heat Grenade(ヒートグレネード Hīto Gurenēdo): A move where Atsuhi throws one of the small grenades contained within the compartments of her belt, increasing the temperature of the plastic ball, which causes the gas inside of it to heat up as well and rapidly increase in size, until it bursts out of its container.

Equipment

  • The Saeki Grenades: They're made of weak plastic and easily open when they hit the ground. They're filled with heavily condensed gas, which bursts out upon impact or when heated up by Atsuhi. There are many kinds of grenades - some actually explode, others knock people out, and there's even a few flash bangs.
  • The Saeki Skirt: Attached to the belt, alongside four small containers. The front ones store her small grenades, while the ones at the back are full of medical supplies.
  • The Saeki Containers: The front pieces slide open, revealing their contents. Items are attached to the inner side so that they don't accidentally fall out.

Trivia

  • Atsuhi's surname, Saeki, contains the kanji 冴, which could mean "cold", whereas her given name Atsuhi contains the kanji for "fire" (火), referring to the nature of her Quirk.15461546_sdGxS4jGELjsJmP.png
    • Atsuhi's hero name, Atsuheat (アツヒート Atsuhīto), is a combination of her given name and the word Heat (ヒート Hīto)
    • Atsuhi's UA data is as follows:
      • Student No.12 in Class 1-A.
      • Ranked 9th during the UA Entrance Exam.
      • Ranked 14th during the Quirk Apprehension Test.
      • Ranked 6th in Class 1-A's mid-term grades.
      • Ranked 3rd in the UA Sports Festival First-Year Stage.
  • Atsuhi's favorite flavor is strawberry.
  • Atsuhi is the 11th oldest kid in her class, with her birthday taking place on August 14th.
  • Gardenias are the flowers that symbolize Atsuhi and Bakugo's relationship, as they can mean purity, sweetness, indicate secret love, and convey joy. They tell the receiver that they are lovely.
  • She loves collecting merch of her parents. It's a bit of a struggle as they're not big enough to have large quantities of merchandise. There is barely any Hiyamiku merch out there, and Lava Floor doesn't get that many deals either. Her favorite feeling is finding merchandise that is either unlicensed so she doesn't know of its existence or that her family has never been sent example products of.
16407904_EhpQH8G02pReLT8.png
  • The list of classmates that have shipped her and Bakugo together since before she found out she had feelings for him goes as follows: Kirishima, Kaminari, Ashido, Uraraka, Sero, and Jiro.
  • Atsuhi is great at cooking. A skill mostly stemming from the fact that she's lived alone for a couple of years now.
  • Atsuhi's hero costume was manufactured by the same support company that made Midoriya's and Todoroki's costumes.
  • The official ship name for Saeki Atsuhi and Bakugo Katsuki is Katsuhi.
  • The hero name of Atsuhi's mother is Hiyamiku (originating from the word 冷 Hiya), meaning "cold", and her given name - Miku. Her Quirk allows her to lower the temperature of the "atmosphere" around her - in other words, she can make the air around her colder. She can choose how low to go. However, once she lowers the temperature, she can only bring it back to its original one. What that means is that, if for example she starts at 15 degrees, then lowers it to 5, she cannot go back to 10. Instead, her only option is to bring it back to 15 degrees. Her Quirk works within a radius of her, though this radius improves the more she trains her Quirk. From her, Atsuhi inherited the cooling aspect of her Quirk and the limited radius of activation.
  • The hero name of Atsuhi's father is Lava Floor. He made it up a while ago so, while he thinks it to be a little stupid now, the name has already stuck and there's no changing it anymore. His Quirk allows him to turn anything solid his feet touch (whether he is or isn't wearing shoes doesn't make a difference) into a lava-like substance. This substance isn't nearly as destructive as the real thing, but it is just as burning hot. He can regulate its temperature a little, and easily revert whatever it is he used his Quirk on back to what it had been prior. His Quirk only spans as wide as the single material he's standing on (in other words, if the floor sharply turns from wood to cement, his Quirk will work as far as where the material changes). This is where Atsuhi inherited the heating aspect of her Quirk and the solid object requirement.

History

21680263_5hGzFOPdpoGkUig.png

Atsuhi Saeki grew up in the loving family of two professional heroes with a shared hero agency in Fukua – Miku Saeki (Hiyamiku) and Ryuu Saeki (Lava Floor). The two were very busy, so for most of Atsuhi's early years, only one attended to the agency itself, while the other stayed at home to take care of her. As she grew older, she had to stay home alone most of the time, at times not even seeing her parents for the entire day.

Every once in a while, however, one or both of her parents would have a day off and she'd gladly spend it together with them, savoring each and every moment.

That was how her life continued until she was 11 years old. On one such instance, where her mother had a free day to spend just with her daughter, the two went out to watch a movie, have some ice-cream, and simply walk around a little. Passing by a particularly suspicious alleyway on the way back, however, they heard a concerning sound coming from somewhere inside the dark street.

Miku knew she could take care of a couple of stoned kids or some thief so she charged in. However, the moment she did so, she was attacked by a creature moving at almost inhuman speeds. As she barely held back her attacker, she cried at Atsuhi to call for help. Though frozen in fear at first, the girl soon turned around to call out so someone.

But when she did, she heard a loud scream and then a big splash. In that moment, Hiyamiku had been killed by the Hero Killer. He in turn moved towards Atsuhi and, standing in front of the trembling little girl, told her that she was still a child and had time to change.

That was when the police and some nearby heroes arrived at the scene, and the Hero Killer escaped. Atsuhi's father came not long after, comforting his daughter as best he could between his own tears and her numb reactions.

It took Atsuhi a couple of months to get herself together, struggling to cope with what she'd witnessed. And, although still afraid of those memories, she managed to find the strength to move on, promising herself to smile even wider than before.

And even after all that had happened, she still wanted to become a hero, just like her parents.

Synopsis

Entrance Exam Arc

While on her typical daily walk from her middle-school to her home, Atsuhi suddenly finds herself standing right before a big explosion. When the smoke clears, it reveals a hideous sludge-like monster, which soon notices her presence and begins moving towards her. It's only after a voice from inside the creature shouts for her to move out of the way that she realizes there is somebody inside the villain and that she's in danger.

But though she turns around to run, she's stopped by the villain who wraps a slimy tendril around her wrist, preventing her escape. She's given enough time to think up an escape plan when the hostage begins struggling further, taking the villain's attention away from her for just long enough. She reaches into her backpack and heats up her metal lunchbox, which she throws at the villain, hurting him and escaping in the process.

She is then rescued by Kamui Woods who leaves her with the other civilians nearby, where she is forced to watch and feel helpless as the heroes struggle to capture the villain and arrive at the conclusion that a person with a more suitable Quirk is needed.

She wants to do something and Midoriya dashing in to help Bakugo is just what she needs, running after him to distract the villain until the boy succeeds. She heats up a few rocks from the ground and throws them at the monster, much like she'd done earlier, capturing his attention again.

At first, everything looks to be going well but then the villain suddenly turns towards the two boys again. Before all hope is lost however, All Might appears and defeats him.

Atsuhi and Midoriya are later scolded by the pros. When the two are finally alone, she proceeds to thank Midoriya for being the one to actually do something instead of watch uselessly from the sidelines. Then, she goes to talk to Bakugo as well, telling him that she probably owes him her life for saving her earlier, though he denies having ever done such a thing. In the end, she assumes he's going to apply for UA as well and promises him she'd see him there.

Later that day, she comes home and talks to her dad, who claims he wants to scold her for acting irresponsibly but says a part of himself is also proud of her for acting just like a hero.

Months later, it's time for Atsuhi to take part in the UA Entrance Exam. Once at the site of the exam, she runs into Midoriya and has a short conversation with him. Not long after, the exam unexpectedly begins and Atsuhi is scrambling for points.

She's moving along the rooftops of the buildings, touching the robots and making them overheat. Once the Gimmick appears, she's just about to run in the opposite direction when she spots Midoriya running towards the robot. As she realizes there must've been a reason to make him do this, she spots Uraraka trapped underneath a pile of rubble and goes to help her.

When the exam is over she helps Midoriya until Recovery Girl's arrival by cooling off his broken limbs to reduce any swelling.

In the end, Atsuhi scores 58 points and is accepted into UA, ranked 9th in the Entrance Exam.

Quirk Apprehension Test Arc

As the UA school year begins, Atsuhi walks into the classroom to find the only familiar face among the crowd to be Bakugo. She walks up to him and starts up a conversation, quickly realizing his ego is quite big. Soon enough, he lifts his feet up on the desk, making Ida approach him and the two begin arguing. Atsuhi tries to diffuse the situation, giving Ida enough time to go torment Midoriya instead.

The chatter is quickly interrupted by Aizawa's arrival and though Atsuhi cannot believe he is their homeroom teacher, she can't shake off the feeling that she's seen him somewhere before either.

As the class goes through the different physical tests, Atsuhi only has her greater-than-average speed and a handful of technicalities like causing the measuring device in the grip strength test to malfunction to rely on. When it's Midoriya's turn to throw and Aizawa erases his Quirk, she finally recognizes him as Eraser Head, recalling stories about her dad's friendship with him.

She argues a little with Bakugo, who claims Midoriya has no Quirk, while Atsuhi is certain she's seen him use it herself. After that, the tests aren't very eventful. Though she's shocked when Aizawa announces he wasn't actually going to expel anybody, Atsuhi still feels relieved.

Before she could go to the changing rooms with the rest of the girls, however, Atsuhi is stopped by Bakugo, who wants to know how her Quirk works. She explains the basics to him, after which he tells her to use it on him. She does as told, and Bakugo reveals that her Quirk is useful for strengthening his explosions, claiming he wouldn't mind enduring her presence in battle if it meant she could make him stronger.

Later that day, when walking out of the school, Atsuhi spots Bakugo a few meters ahead and catches up to him, asking if he minds the company. Though it takes a little bit of convincing, Bakugo reluctantly agrees to walk home with Atsuhi.

Battle Trial Arc

16407899_Q1ajDJnblkVFyPg.png

As she finally puts on her costume for the first time, Atsuhi can't help but admire others' designs as well, striking up a short conversation with Bakugo. She is soon approached by Midoriya however, who asks her if she's the daughter of Hiyamiku and Lava Floor. Atsuhi is speechless, unable to believe someone would even know who her parents are, let alone recognize her as their child.

The proceed to excitedly chat about them for a little, reminiscing about a fight in Shizuoka Midoriya had witnessed a few years ago. Neither, however, mentions what happened to Hiyamiku.

Soon after, All Might explains the rules of the Battle Training and Atsuhi is assigned on the same team as Bakugo. When they are to face off against Midoriya and Uraraka, however, Atsuhi tries to talk some sense into Bakugo and convince him not to go after the green-haired boy so single-mindedly.

Bakugo doesn't listen and leaves her to guard the weapon alone, going as far as to refuse her help. Although a little mad, Atsuhi has no choice but to figure out a strategy on her own. She pushes most furniture of the room elsewhere and remains waiting for Uraraka, who she's sure will come here soon enough.

Once the other girl finally arrives, Atsuhi uses one of her flash bangs to surprise her and the two continue fighting, both seemingly equal, but with neither advancing further.

It's only when Atsuhi slips up for a second that Uraraka has enough time to tell Midoriya the location of the weapon and with their combined efforts, the two win, leaving Atsuhi laying on the ground, exhausted and defeated.

That same day, Atsuhi can tell Bakugo isn't quite himself. But she also realizes there isn’t anything she could do now, leaving him to his own thoughts instead. Before she leaves, however, she is stopped by a couple of classmates, mainly Kirishima, who are impressed at how she and Bakugo almost won, despite the fact that she was essentially fighting by herself, and they introduce themselves to one another.

USJ Arc

The following day, Atsuhi runs into Bakugo shortly before entering UA, pleased to find that he seems to be feeling much better and less upset than he was the previous day.

Just as they're about to enter the school, they're swarmed by reporters asking them all sorts of uncomfortable questions. One recognizes Atsuhi and proceeds to ask her about her mother. Before she could though, the reporter is interrupted by Aizawa, who gives the students enough time to enter the school while he deals with the reporters, for which Atsuhi is grateful.

When it's announced that the class is to choose a representative, Atsuhi is moved by Ida's speech and decides to vote for him, disappointed when he doesn't win. When lunch break comes, she, Bakugo, Kirishima, and Kaminari walk to the cafeteria together and have lunch over some small talk. When the alarm rings and everyone begins panicking, the four are separated and swept away by the crowd.

Someone suddenly grabs Atsuhi's wrist and pulls her away, and she quickly realizes it's Bakugo, letting herself be dragged away by him. Soon enough, Ida diffuses the situation and the day continues on normally.

On the following day, it's time for the students' Rescue Training in USJ. While in the bus, Atsuhi sits next to Bakugo and listens in on the conversation between everyone else. She tells Kirishima that his Quirk is still flashier than hers, even though he's bringing himself down.

Once they arrive, Atsuhi reflects on how she too could easily kill a person with her Quirk in a variety of ways. Before the training could even begin though, the class is attacked by the League of Villains. Atsuhi is frozen still in fear, reminded of the terrors she faced on the day the Hero Killer attacked her mother. She is, however, forced to overcome said fear when Kurogiri blocks the students' escape route and she almost dashes after Kirishima and Bakugo, only to halt when Thirteen calls out for them to stop.

Nevertheless, she is still warped together with Kirishima and Bakugo to the Ruins Zone, where the three are left no choice but to fight the weak villains stationed there. Throughout the entire battle, Atsuhi is using her Quirk on Bakugo as well and as such, needs a few minutes to catch her breath after it. That's when Bakugo comes up with a plan, saying that they should go and attack the villains in the central plaza, where the villain who teleported them is.

When they arrive, although shocked to find All Might on the verge of losing, they proceed with their plan, according to which, once Bakugo has pinned Kurogiri down, Atsuhi has to touch him, in order to activate her Quirk on him and prevent any potential escape.

All is looking bright when Shigaraki suddenly orders Nomu to attack Bakugo and Atsuhi, who are standing beside the pinned down Kurogiri. Atsuhi is afraid she'll die, only to realize that both her and Bakugo have somehow been pushed back and away from the creature that had been about to kill them, soon noticing All Might holding it back.

Atsuhi stands back while All Might faces off against the Nomu and is about to breathe a sigh of relief when it looks like the League of Villains is going to retreat. However, she is reminded of Bakugo's plan, thinking to activate her Quirk and stop Kurogiri from moving any further.

But by doing so, she unknowingly catches Shigaraki's attention and a small portal opens right in front of her, the villain's hand poking out and aiming straight for her face. Although trembling in fear, she barely manages to evade the murderous attack by gripping the villain's wrist to keep his hand away from her face and using her Quirk on him, going as far as to leave burn marks. Suddenly, a second portal opens and Shigaraki's other hand quickly nears her face, only for him to be shot away by the pros, who'd just arrived at the scene.

After the incident at USJ, Bakugo proposes to walk her all the way to her home, just so she doesn't feel so lonely. When they arrive, she thanks him for the kind offer, and decides to do something daring, by leaning in to give him a brief hug, before she swiftly unlocks her door and walks inside, leaving Bakugo before she could see his reaction.

Despite how tired she feels, she knows she has to give her father a call, to assure him she's alright. When they talk at first, she keeps her fears bottled up, though her father quickly notices and encourages her to let out all her worries. She gives in, frantically explaining through sobs and tears that she was almost killed, and how afraid and helpless she had felt in that moment. Her father lets her cry for a while, hoping it may help her overcome this hardship.

Ennichi Festival Arc

21680235_Qxx9kFWkw1f3POW.png

The day after the events at USJ, Hagakure and Uraraka invite Atsuhi to come along with them to the Ennichi Festival that same evening. Atsuhi accepts without hesitating, reminiscing about how much she used to love going to that festival with her parents. And though she tries to invite Bakugo as well, he tells her it’s dumb and she realizes she should’ve expected that answer.

Later that day, at the Ennichi Festival, Atsuhi walks around with the two girls as they try out all sorts of dishes. She stops after the first few and gets distracted as she remembers all the good times with her parents there, only to now realize she’ll never have moments like these again, which only serves to sadden her.

When Hagakure and Uraraka are practically passed out and Atsuhi feels too alone and terrible to bear any longer, she decides to leave. Before she does however, she notices a text message from Bakugo, asking where she is. After she tells him her location, she is shocked to find him appearing in front of her, albeit dressed more casually than she is.

Suddenly all her excitement returns at once, happy that Bakugo did decide to tag along in the end. Atsuhi leads him around the different booths, showing him all the things she experienced with her parents.

At the end of the festival, when it’s time for the fireworks to begin, Atsuhi leads Bakugo to a small hill near the festival grounds, where her parents met for the first time. They call it the Saeki Observatory as it’s a perfect place to watch the fireworks from. And as the two gaze at the colors lighting up the sky, they take a moment to reflect on everything that has brought them to this moment.

U.A. Sports Festival Arc

As the Sports Festival approaches, Atsuhi trains harder than ever before, determined to show the world how strong the powers of her parents combined can be. When the other classes corner 1A to gather information before the festival begins, Atsuhi tries to prevent Bakugo from saying anything that might fully diminish the class' favor among the other courses of UA. Her efforts, however, remain futile, as the only thing she can really do is push the boy away before he's said any more hurtful things.

When the festival actually begins, with its first event being an Obstacle Course Race, Atsuhi uses her speed to get an advantage right from the start, moving among the leader positions. She is, however, forced to a stop when Todoroki freezes the ground. She puts her practice to use as she quickly melts the ice and continues running, until she reaches the gimmicks.

Knowing she doesn't have much time to think of a safe plan, Atsuhi decides to climb over the frozen robots, melting the ice whenever she needs a place to grab onto. When she moves past the fallen gimmicks, she passes by the working ones by melting their feet to the ground and returning them back to normal once she's far enough from them.

She has to pass the rope-crawling part without the use of her Quirk. Her pace is slowed down even further when she reaches the mines and has to pay attention to where she's stepping. She only gets desperate and takes a risk when she notices Midoriya, Bakugo, and Todoroki shooting up ahead at explosive speed. Fortunately, she still finishes ninth, and thus, moves onto the Cavalry Battle.

When it's time to pick teams for the next event, Atsuhi worries that her lack of long-range attacks might make it hard for her to find a team. However, she is soon approached by Bakugo, who wants to have her in his, since he'd seen her melting Todoroki's ice, revealing his plan to snatch the ten million from Midoriya and then crush Todoroki too. Afterwards the two are approached by Kirishima and later find Sero to add to the team as well.

As the Cavalry Battle begins, Bakugo's first goal is to take Midoriya's points, while the rest of his team has to watch out for his landing. When the four stop to consider how to continue, Atsuhi suddenly feels a presence approaching them and though she warns them, it's too late as class B's Monoma snatches the headband Bakugo's wearing.

He proceeds to taunt them, revealing class B's strategy but also delivering more personal insults by joking that their team is full of celebrities, and calling out Bakugo as the victim of the Sludge Villain Incident, and Atsuhi as the daughter of a professional hero who couldn't defeat a simple villain. Atsuhi is enraged at this and swears to crush Monoma's team alongside Bakugo.

They think of a quick plan and put it into motion. Sero pulls the team closer with his tape, while Atsuhi uses her Quirk on the boy that solidifies air. After that, with the help of Sero's tape, Bakugo lifts Atsuhi up beside him just long enough for her to grab Monoma's wrist and threaten him not to mess with class 1A, proceeding to use her Quirk on him as well, as he panics and creates an explosion using Bakugo's power, which makes the girl retreat, but not before she could grab the headbands he's wearing.

With that, the team heads for Midoriya and Todoroki, with Bakugo rushing ahead of them, though the time runs out before he could. When Atsuhi goes to comfort him, his mood makes a sharp turn and he looks at her with a serious expression, saying they need to talk about something. Atsuhi is taken aback but goes along with him anyway.

Just when they find a seemingly empty hallway to talk in, they overhear Todoroki talking nearby. Atsuhi is ready to run in the opposite direction, but Bakugo stops her, putting a hand on her mouth and holding her in place, claiming they'd be heard if they tried to move now. Atsuhi, however, knows that's not true, but realizes that if she were to try and leave now, with Bakugo preventing her escape, they would surely be heard.

So, she's forced to listen to Todoroki talking about his past, realizing that not all families were quite as perfect as hers was. When the two boys talking leave, Atsuhi looks to Bakugo, asking him if they should talk now, but he says she can go ahead and have lunch instead.

Later, the third challenge is introduced, with Atsuhi wondering if a fight against Aoyama was something she should've been happy about. When the excitement of the new announcement has died down, and it's time for the recreational games to start, Atsuhi approaches Bakugo and asks him if now is a good time for him to tell her what he wanted.

Bakugo agrees and the two find an empty waiting room, where he asks her what happened to her mother. Atsuhi is taken aback by his direct approach and hesitates if she should even tell him. In the end, however, she realizes how much he's done for her and comes to the conclusion that she owes him an explanation. So, she tells him the story of how she went out with her mother that day, how they ran into the Hero Killer, and how Hiyamiku was killed.

The entire time, Bakugo sits in silence with a serious face and waits for her to finish. Once Atsuhi goes quiet, Bakugo explains that he knew who her parents were and has heard of the incident, though he never knew she was actually present at the time. He continues on to say how, even after everything she's been through, Atsuhi's still smiling like that all the time, wider than everyone else, and how perhaps this should be considered strength in its own way.

Atsuhi realizes that she's never thought about it quite this way, thanking Bakugo for making her consider it. In the end, they return to the class' seating area, all the while Atsuhi teases Bakugo for being such a big fanboy.

Atsuhi watches Midoriya's match against Shinso with bated breath and breathes a sigh of relief when her classmate wins. Only then does she realize that she is third in the bracket. Thus, she leaves for the waiting rooms.

After Todoroki defeats Sero in the blink of an eye, it's time for Atsuhi to face off against Aoyama. She has a simple strategy jumping in, and closes the distance between her and her opponent any time he pauses between the firing of his laser. Soon enough, she's standing right in front of him and manages to push him out of bounds, winning the match, though she still offers Aoyama a hand to thank him for the good fight.

She pays some attention to the rest of the matches, but the one she's dreading soon comes up – Bakugo vs. Uraraka. She's afraid Bakugo might take the girl too lightly and warns him about it. Though she's anxious even before the fight has started, her heart drops when the crowd begins booing Bakugo for simply showing respect for his opponent. As such, she's grateful when Aizawa makes the whole audience shut up. She had known the winner was obvious from the start but even still, she feels heartbroken when she sees Uraraka collapse to the ground.

A little later, she paces anxiously near the girl's waiting room, wondering if she should go in and encourage her, seeing how close she is to the boy who defeated her. Her worries are all pushed aside when she sees Midoriya walking in though, realizing that Uraraka already has someone there to help her.

When she returns to the rest of the class, Atsuhi can't help but shoot a glare at those saying Bakugo played a villain role, effectively shutting them up.

Next, it's time for the first match of the second round. As Midoriya faces off against Todoroki, she realizes he must be doing something to consciously make the latter use his flames, and she later marvels at the fire's beauty.

Once again though, right after the match ends, Atsuhi remembers she's next and jumps up, hurrying towards the waiting rooms, where she has to come up with a strategy to defeat Ida. Before she leaves though, she is stopped by Bakugo, who tells her that he's waiting for her at the finals, so the two could have a proper fight against each other, no holding back. Atsuhi blushes a little, wondering what the weird tingly sensation his words bring about might be.

A little later, it's finally time for the match to start. Atsuhi knows her strategy isn't all that good but she doesn't have anything better in mind. The fight begins and she makes a move to touch Ida once. Before she could though, she's suddenly lifted up in the air, soon realizing she's being carried away to the edge by her opponent himself.

15506522_Zud5fy7fP1dolQL.png

Knowing she has to do something, now that her first plan has failed before it has even begun, Atsuhi tries to brush her hands against Ida's engines, successfully touching them for just a brief moment. With that, she heats them up and causes them to stall almost immediately. As she slips out from his grasp, Atsuhi now has a chance against Ida once again, and moves to push him out of bounds. Although barely and after some struggles, she successfully defeats her opponent, feeling guilty at the end when she finds out he too has been fighting for somebody.

As she's about to go back, she runs into Midoriya, telling him he fought well. He congratulates her for winning but follows up by apologizing, reminding her that now Todoroki might use his flames. That's when Atsuhi realizes that her next fight is indeed against said boy, already considering herself defeated once she returns to the rest of her class.

In the minutes leading up to the fight, she's freaking out upon the realization that the two's Quirk are nearly identical, only Todoroki's is stronger than hers. Even Bakugo encourages her a little, though she isn't in the mood for it and feels bad for being so cold to him.

Her match with Todoroki starts and she immediately runs towards him, only to be stopped when a small ice structure captures her arm and leg, restricting her movements. That's when she puts her training to the test, quickly melting the ice and closing the distance between them, as Todoroki continues shooting off ice which she promptly melts.

Soon enough, she's standing almost in front of him and, by simply reaching out her hand, touches his shoulder, ready to finally use her Quirk on him. Before she could though, he moves away, and Atsuhi looses her grip, the effects of using her Quirk so much quickly taking its toll on her, as her knees give out and she falls to the ground just beyond the white line. She doesn't even have the strength to get up as she lets herself be carried away to Recovery Girl's office.

Once she recovers some of her strength, she pleads with Recovery Girl to go out for a little and watch the other matches, finding an empty waiting room to sit in. Her peace is soon interrupted when Bakugo walks in, leaving her feeling even worse for not keeping the promise she made to him and losing before the finals. She frantically says she should be leaving and as she makes a sharp movement to get up, her exhaustion takes effect and she almost falls to the ground again, if it hadn't been for Bakugo who helps steady her before she could.

As both sigh, he leads her to a chair and the two sit down, Bakugo saying that she fought well. Atsuhi, however, responds that she still lost because she wasn't strong enough. Because Todoroki's Quirk was so similar yet still stronger than hers.

Bakugo disagrees and explains that, while the basic premise of their Quirks sounds similar in theory, they're fundamentally different, as if two separate parts of the same power. He says that Atsuhi can do the things Todoroki can't, just like Todoroki can do the things she can't, and that, had the rules been any different, she might've had a chance.

Atsuhi is at a loss for words, yet again being comforted by Bakugo. She thanks him for having her back multiple times that day and apologizes for making him always feel the need to say something.

Soon, however, it is time for the final match of the Sports Tournament. When Bakugo and Todoroki's fight ends, Atsuhi can't help but shed a few tears in Bakugo's stead, as she realizes he never got what he had been aiming for – an indisputable first place.

When the awarding ceremony starts, with Atsuhi placing third, she can't believe that she's waiting for it to end so anxiously, even though she's dreamed of something like this all her life. As she returns home full of giddy thoughts on where she should hang up her new medal though, she finds out the Hero Killer has returned.

The news leave her a crying and sobbing mess. After taking a while to calm down, she decides it's best to take her mind off things for a little, giving Bakugo a brief call, as they talk about anything and everything. After that, she has a long and drawn-out call with her father too, feeling a kind of dread and fear she hasn't felt in a long time.

Training of the Dead Arc

In a few days, it's time for Atsuhi to return to school. She's moody and still down from the news from a few days ago. However, she has to push on through and proceed with the day as normal. The students present their hero names and she explains how she's been set on becoming a hero since she was a child so this name's been decided a long time ago.

Later in the day, the class is set to have an exercise with a few students from Isami Hero School. While the girls are in the changing rooms, Isami High's Class President asks Atsuhi how she manages to keep Bakugo under control, needing the advice for her class' own Fujimi. This leads to lots of teasing by Mina and the other girls, leaving Atsuhi a blushing red mess.

Once the exercise starts, Atsuhi forms a team with Kirishima, Momo, and Bakugo, who has already run on ahead, taking teams out by himself. Once the three catch up to him, they're immediately forced on the defensive as missiles are fired their way. Hiding under the protective cover Momo creates, they find the Isami students entering the area. Soon they emerge from their hiding spot and Atsuhi takes on two of the students, as her team fights off the rest.

Suddenly, one of the students fires off some sort of gas and before Atsuhi could figure out what he's doing, she is flung in the air by Bakugo, quickly landing back on the ground roughly, and covering her mouth and nose, realizing that she shouldn't breathe in the mysterious substance. And just when she thinks she's found Bakugo and goes on to complain about him throwing her in the air like that, she discovers that he, along with the rest of her team, have been turned into zombies.

This leaves Atsuhi running for her life, as a hoard of brainless monsters chases after her. Just when she trips a little and is about to be captured by her pursuers, Midoriya sweeps in and carries her away to where the only students unaffected by the gas are. However, as they sit and talk, they're quickly surrounded by zombies and engage in a fight to try and break their way out of this.

Out of nowhere, the one responsible for the zombie outbreak, Isami High’s Fujimi, appears, taunting the UA students. When a zombified Bakugo approaches him and is quickly about to bite him, Fujimi grabs a hold of Atsuhi, pushing her in front of him, and swiftly disappears, getting bitten by other zombie soon after.

Atsuhi is suddenly faced with Bakugo and, freezing still in the face of such fear, lets him approach her, alongside a group of other zombies, all preparing to bite her. Before any could though, Bakugo, still a mindless zombie, blasts them away, buying enough time for Atsuhi to be dragged away by Mina and hide in a small cave with the remaining 'survivors'. They come up with a plan and exit their hiding place, as Midoriya attacks the zombies. In that moment, however, they all turn back to humans.

After failing to make Bakugo apologize to the students from Isami High, Atsuhi walks home with him and decides to ask if her remembers anything from when he was a zombie. He says no, though Atsuhi still can't help but wonder if he consciously went out of his way to protect her.

Upon her return home, she decides it's best to figure out where she is planning to intern. For a while everything is going as planned with Atsuhi quickly finding her father's name on the list. It's only after a while that she notices she's been invited by Endeavor as well.

Vs. Hero Killer Arc

She spends the entire remainder of the evening and the next day at school wondering why she might've been chosen by him, even going as far as to ask Todoroki if he potentially knows anything. Though he couldn't provide her with any answers, Atsuhi finds what she is looking for after a short talk with Bakugo, when she realizes it might be to help Todoroki master his new power, as their Quirks are quite similar. Even with this realization, Atsuhi is willing to take the chance and picks Endeavor's agency.

When everyone is departing for their internships, she goes to talk to Ida, as she remembers Uraraka being worried that Ida has picked an agency in Hosu. She is one of the few who know what Ida's going through and tries to tell him to think rationally, encouraging him to rely on his friends in moments like these more than ever. Ida, however, dismisses her words, believing she couldn't possibly understand his situation. This makes Atsuhi snap and she leaves, feeling guilty she might've been too harsh the entire ride to Endeavor's agency with Todoroki.

Once the internships begin, Endeavor is mostly dismissive of Atsuhi, telling her directly that she's here purely because of her Quirk. After that, he takes the two out on patrol, which still leaves Atsuhi exhausted, although mentally, rather than physically.

The second day, patrol continues. However, in an instance where Endeavor leaves the two alone to talk to a policeman at a nearby crime scene, Todoroki approaches Atsuhi to seemingly apologize to her about the Sports Festival, though she cuts him off before he could, saying that it was a fair match. In the end, he says it was a good fight, finally putting an end to the awkwardness she'd been feeling around him ever since she lost to him.

On the third day, Atsuhi is unpleasantly surprised when Endeavor announces that they will be going after the Hero Killer. The entire ride to Hosu City, she is anxious and wants to quit. Even while walking through the streets, she is jumpy and worried, finally deciding to tell everyone she can't go through with this.

Before she could though, an explosion interrupts her thoughts and Atsuhi has to go along with everyone else, as they head towards the source of it. They've barely arrived, when Midoriya sends out a suspicious group message with just his location. Atsuhi and Todoroki decide to head to the location, though the entire time the girl has a sinking feeling in her stomach that the reason for the suspicious message is the Hero Killer.

Family

Saeki Miku/Hiyamiku

15616533_oLE469J44o3elBm.png

Atsuhi's mother was a fun and cheerful person, which is where Atsuhi inherited her ever-present smile from. She admired both her mother and her father for the kinds of heroes they were, but was especially in awe at her mother's strength when she had defeated a villain before the pros' arrival, when she had been only a second-year at UA. The two used to spend any free moment of her mother's together (whenever her father was free as well, then it would be a day for all three of them), going around the city to gaze at shops without buying anything, have some ice-cream, watch some hero movies, and so on.

After her mother's death, Atsuhi was devastated. More than that, she felt useless and guilty for being unable to do anything and prevent what had happened. Over time, however, she came to the realization that her mother would've wanted her to continue on with her life, smiling even wider than before. As such, she treasures the good memories she had with her.

As of the Sports Festival, when she revealed the details of her death to Bakugo, he told her that the ability to keep smiling as she always did might've been a strength of its own. Since then, and especially the fight against the Hero Killer a few days later, when she recalled this conversation and a precious memory with her mother, Atsuhi has fully moved on, promising her mother to live her life to the fullest, even if she might not be there to see it.

Saeki Ryuu/Lava Floor

Atsuhi's father was another one of her inspirations to become a hero. He was the only support she had to lean on after her mother was killed, and it was his constant reassurance and calming presence beside her that helped her overcome everything in the first place.

While she lives away from him now, she still speaks to him over the phone every day without fail, both listing off stories from her own day, while also listening to his experiences from work. Due to the tragedy with his wife, however, Atsuhi's father is especially concerned about the well-being of his daughter, having almost left the agency and ran to catch the first train to where Atsuhi was on several occasions, including the Sludge Villain Incident and the attack at USJ. He actually took a few days off to visit his daughter after the fight with the Hero Killer, helping her recover faster but also being there for her emotionally.

Atsuhi craves to spend more time with her father, specifically during holidays, mainly because he usually works even during those.

When Atsuhi began talking more and more about Bakugo, Ryuu was one of the first people to suspect she might have feelings for the boy, and though he kept quiet for a while, he soon began teasing her about it any chance he got. In reality though, he knows Bakugo is a good person who only has his daughter's best interests in mind and as such would approve if Atsuhi ever decided to make a move upon these feelings.

U.A. High School

Class 1-A

Katsuki Bakugo

The two's first meeting occurred during the Sludge Villain Incident, where Atsuhi helped Midoriya in his attempt to set Bakugo free. At first, Atsuhi was admittedly impressed by the boy's strength and perseverance (even going as far as to mention that she owed him her life after he had 'saved' her, though Bakugo himself denies having ever done such thing), while he didn't think much of her.

15348848_rHSIY4gW9cx3zyx.png

When both were accepted into UA, Atsuhi was even more impressed by Bakugo's score on the Entrance Exam. It was only after the Quirk Test by Aizawa on the first day that Bakugo took note of Atsuhi's Quirk and by extent, took some interest in the girl herself. Approaching her to ask about her Quirk, he was proven right and the two deduced that Atsuhi could help enhance his strength in battle.

That was the first reason Bakugo had to let Atsuhi near him. Atsuhi herself, however, is fully willing to approach the boy and is quite patient with him, confident that if she were to look past his grumpy outer shell, there would be something much more beautiful hiding underneath.

As time went on, the two became more and more comfortable in each other's presence, soon feeling confident sharing sides of themselves no one else had seen before. They provided each other support (reassurance for Atsuhi who needs confidence, and a calming presence for Bakugo who tends to explode quite easily), both in battle and in their day-to-day lives. Among it all, they also began caring about each other quite a lot (though Bakugo was unlikely to admit it).

It was shortly after the End of Term Exam that Atsuhi realized there might be something more between them. She quickly realized how for the past few weeks she'd been feeling inexplicable sensations any time the two talked or even were together. When the word 'love' came to her mind, she was shocked to find that everyone who had been teasing her was actually right all along.

While she made up her mind to confess to him during Summer Training Camp, she is fine leaving things the way they are until then.

Izuku Midoriya

The two met the same day Atsuhi met Bakugo as well. In fact, Midoriya was the easier one to approach out of the two. She later encountered him again during the Entrance Exam, and once more when both were accepted into UA.

They're on friendly terms with each other and don't mind having even simple conversations. Atsuhi admires Midoriya's will to push on and the amount of hard work he puts into training his Quirk.

From Midoriya's perspective, Atsuhi is a strong individual for being able to still smile brightly despite what she has lived through. Aside from that, he is pleasantly surprised to find his childhood friend and former bully Bakugo change around her. He is proud that she's helping him go down the right path, and believes that if this continues, she can really help him greatly.

Ochaco Uraraka

The two's friendship technically began during the Entrance Exam when Atsuhi helped Ochaco escape from underneath the rubble she had been trapped by. When they ended up in the same class, they immediately clicked together, both smiling and laughing all the time, with Uraraka tending to be a little more air-headed every once in a while.

They love talking and doing stupid things together. Recently, Uraraka confessed to maybe having feelings for Midoriya in search of advice and since then Atsuhi's been trying her best to help her when she could. Meanwhile, Uraraka does not seem to be aware of Atsuhi's own feelings for Bakugo, while Atsuhi doesn't want to trouble her any further and as such is keeping quiet about it.

Eijiro Kirishima

They began talking as Kirishima often insisted on hanging out with her and Bakugo, though when they first met he was impressed of her ability to stay level-headed even when Bakugo refused to cooperate during the Battle Training with All Might.

The two love teasing Bakugo together, though as of recently Kirishima, alongside Kaminari, seems to be enjoying teasing Atsuhi instead, as one of the people who have come to the conclusion that she has a crush on Bakugo.

Denki Kaminari

Another person which began hanging out with Atsuhi and Bakugo alongside Kirishima. She often finds his lame jokes to be funny, though lately he has joined Kirishima in teasing her about her newly-developed crush.

Shoto Todoroki

At first, Atsuhi admired his strength from a distance but after overhearing his story about his past (an incident she claims is all Bakugo's fault) and later losing to him at the Sports Festival, she didn't know how to act or talk to him at all.

Moreover, she knows their Quirks are somewhat similar, though at first she believes hers to be something like a weaker version of Todoroki's. What makes her change her mind, are Bakugo's words to her after her loss to Todoroki.

It was only after he approached her during their internship under Endeavor, that she feels they've settled things between them. As of right now, she doesn't mind fighting beside him, knowing they can come up with a good strategy and have a good understanding of each other's Quirks.

Class 1-B

Neito Monoma

Her only encounter with him has been during the Cavalry Battle at the Sports Festival. He left a bad impression on Atsuhi, bringing up painful stories from the past and meddling with things others are respectful enough not to mention. She thinks she's being a little petty, but she's very happy they managed to defeat his team.

Faculty

Shota Aizawa

Atsuhi has heard stories about Aizawa from her father who knows the hero, though she finds it hard to believe the Aizawa from those stories is the same as the Aizawa that's her homeroom teacher. She does, however, admire the lengths he's ready to go to to protect his students and believes his Quirk is really fascinating.

She has also been internally grateful to him ever since he stopped that reporter who was about to ask her a question related to the incident with her mother.

Villains

Hero Killer: Stain

Since she first encountered him, the day he killed her mother, she has loathed him with her entire being. More than that, she was scared of him. Even now, after having faced off against him once again and knowing he has already been defeated, she still fears him. There is, however, one thing that makes her happy - now that he has been defeated, she can finally say she's proven him wrong.

Tomura Shigaraki

Atsuhi doesn't understand why he wants to kill All Might or wreak havoc. The encounter at USJ and the memory of barely holding his hand away from her face still haunt her.

And after the recent encounter at the shopping district she has become increasingly worried. However, she seems to have forgotten his words...
