One of the Soviet cosmonauts that went to outer space before Yuri Gagarin, but their existence has never been publicly acknowledged by either the Soviet or Russian space authorities.

A lost cosmonaut.

Back from the dead by the will of some force out in space. 

Scarce remains of its humanity. It has kept a habit from when they were alive, smoking cigars.

The only way it can communicate is through playing old recorded transmissions.
