    Kind at first glance, quick temper when irritated.

    Hart has a very gentle and friendly exterior that makes him appear very approachable and trustworthy. He's very good at making plans and following through with them. Rarely is he still for extended periods, as he often has too much energy to just sit without fidgeting. Hart is very quick to stand up for his personal sense of justice and tends to get involved in situations that don't involve him if he thinks that something is wrong. Despite all appearances, Hart has a hot temper that meanly shows itself when he gets agitated. He's quick to start a fight if he feels provoked, and feels little remorse about it. His anger will cause him to shout or raise his voice when he's especially worked up, but total silence indicates that he's too well into his fury to negotiate with. He also tends to judge others harshly, expecting everyone to live up to his high standards. He will try to smother or hide his anger when he's trying to impress someone, but it makes him very anxious and irritable for some time afterwords. Hart is harsher on himself than he is on others, especially when he makes visible mistakes (which never includes the fights he gets into, of course). He is super organized with his personal belongings, believing that everything has a proper place and order, and thinks that extra trinkets only create clutter. Disorder makes him antsy and he's uncomfortable when in messy or dirty locations. Hart is an early bird, preferring to wake up early, to show up to appointments before they're scheduled, and also to go to bed at a reasonable hour. He can deal with changes to his schedule as long as he has advance warning.

  • Appearance

    He has fair, unblemished skin, which doesn't ever seem to burn in the sun; light olive-green eyes with long lashes; dark blue hair, swept into gentle spikes with the right side longer in the front along his face (develops a slight curl when wet); lithe build that allows for speed and flexibility. Hart's strength is above average, but he doesn't have super defined/toned muscles.

    In magical form, his hair color changes to a dark green-olive ombre, and his eyes become a bright, vivid green. Appears to gain a little height, due to the heels of his boots.

  • Backstory

    He had a very shaky/rough relationship with his parents in the past. They did their best to shelter him from just about everything, and Hart rebelled at all the restrictions, basically always did the opposite of what they told him, ignoring any/all punishments. At 16, he lost his mother in a car accident, and his father passed away under very mysterious circumstances just a few weeks later. Hart had to put up with being a ward of the state for a couple of years, spending the time under close watch in foster homes. Because there was suspicion about the details of his father's death, Hart was treated as a high-risk case and he resented the fact that some caretakers treated him like a criminal. Just to spite them, he picked up exceptionally good habits like cleaning and having the best of manners. Anyone who pushed him could still find his bitter anger, but he never did anything to truly cross the line. Hart was kept from any inheritance that his parents left him until several months after he turned 18, which kept him from immediately going into college and forced him to instead work part-time. Numerous complaints and a court case finally granted him permission to everything they left him. He moved away as soon as he received an acceptance letter to his chosen school (which was not too hard for him to get into, given his high grades in the later years of high school and high SAT/ACT scores).

    Currently new (ish) to the area, only moved there for schooling. Rents one bedroom/half basement apartment by himself. Classes typically keep him busy from 8am-1pm on weekdays. Freshman, interest in weather/space (current courses include: Introduction to Communication; Global Geography; Climate Dynamics; Introduction to Professional, Science, and Technical Writing (english/writing); Elementary Probability and Statistics (math); Plant Biology)

  • Yule Ally/teammate (winter/water)

    Yule is one of the most confusing individuals that Hart has ever met. Hart is slow to pick up on his meme/game references since he doesn't have a lot of interest in that. He's concerned that Yule has something actually wrong with him and typically has to approach him with some caution. Yule is the first member of the group that Hart will confess to having a soft spot for, whether it's because they were the first two to meet up or because of Yule's strange charm.

  • Theo Ally/teammate (autumn/metal)

    Hart first thinks of Theo as the only other sane member of the group... until the two of them figure out how terribly their personalities clash. Hart can't stand Theo's proud nature and his excuses to avoid unsavory situations (even though Hart himself would rather do anything else). The two of them fight almost constantly, requiring one of the other two to provide a distraction from the situation. Hart doesn't really realize that Theo goes out of his way to push his buttons, constantly rising to the bait whenever Theo tries to get a response out of him.

  • Diya Ally/teammate (summer/fire)

    The first words Hart said after seeing Diya were simply "dear God". Hart is often left baffled in the wake of Diya's chatty behavior, especially when paired with his unexpected level of intelligence. Hart aspires to be everything that Diya is not, actively going out of his way to select more mundane clothing in comparison to Diya's flashy fashion tastes. Hart has a hard time taking Diya too seriously; the height difference between them often throws him off his anger and Hart hasn't found it in him to be mad about Diya calling him a giraffe on a regular basis.

  • Amanda Ally/advisor (late summer/earth)

    Amanda is so dazzling and theatrical that Hart has a hard time arguing against her. He looks to her for answers and respects her for the simple reason that she actually knows what she's talking about. His first encounter left him actively furious with her, but the more he interacts with her, the more that fades into actual trust. Although he's not particularly happy about everything that's going on, he will listen to her and follow the directions he's given.

  • Pest App informant

    Pest doesn't appear to have any sort of personality, being the most bland of the group's AI systems. Hart still perceives him as a nuisance and expects immediate, direct answers. Their relationship is strictly professional, with no additional chatter or bonding like the others seem to have. Hart does appreciate Pest after seeing the louder personalities of the other AIs, but it doesn't make him act any softer when trying to get things done.

  • Trivia

    ∙ Hart's favorite color is green, especially when paired with natural, pale, or neutral colors. He's very interested in cooking (especially testing out different spices), which goes a long way to cool his temper when he's worked up.

    ∙ He has a soft spot for children or those younger/weaker than himself, and treats them with remarkable kindness. Although he loves animals, he is too allergic to pet dander to allow him to keep anything. This never stops him from greeting/petting friendly animals that cross his path.

    ∙ Hart has especially sharp eyesight, allowing him to catch small movements that others may miss. His parents used to jokingly complain about it, saying that it was the reason he could always spot a mess or when things were out of place. He got used to sometimes seeing things that others couldn't and learned to observe without commenting unless he felt that he had a good reason to interfere. In magical form, his eyesight is even more enhanced; this can cause things to be too visually overwhelming and may leave him with severe headaches if used too long.

    ∙ Light foods, especially those with lots of fruits and vegetables, are Hart's absolute favorite. While he can appreciate them, he isn't a fan of a whole lot of sweets and tends to avoid anything that's too sugary. He also can't handle especially large meals and can't finish oversized portions.

    ∙ Quick to anger, but slow to form a grudge. Hart works out his emotions really fast and then forgets about them. People who consistently make him feel a certain way (be it angry, trusting, happy, etc) will eventually cause him to naturally feel that emotion when around them.

    ∙ Legitimately afraid of the dark. He's okay if there's light of any kind (even distantly), but full darkness or situations where he cannot see will freak him out.

  • Magic Spring/wood

    At its simplest level, Hart is able to manipulate living plants to move wherever he directs them. At much higher levels, he is able to tamper with the life forces of other beings, allowing him to cause damage or healing by way of touch.

    (Extended explanantion from world-builing notes.) Wood magic is one of the most forgiving types of magic. The user is more likely to be healed/improved by using their magic than to be hurt by it. Excessive use without a weapon will cause exhaustion, but no lasting physical damage. It will react poorly to other magics at times, sometimes seeming to have a personality of its own. While individuals other than the user may be healed by this magic, it is not a reliable form of healing as it may not always take root in the target. This won't cause harm, but it also will do nothing beneficial. Most wood magic is based on manipulation of existing vegetation, allowing the user to control rapid growth and movement of plants. The more flexible the plant, the faster and more flexible the magic itself will be. "Dead" wood can be used as well, but requires a lot of effort and can be a big drain on the user. Plants can be created from sheer magical force alone, but this is an advanced technique that requires a lot of power to use effectively. Wood magic may allow tripping/capture of enemies, firing nuts/seeds as small projectiles, or providing temporary shields/cover/camouflage.

  • Skills

    Hart is physically the strongest member of the group. He typically places himself at the frontlines in battle, relying on Diya for close support, Theo for mid-ranged attacks, and Yule for long distance. He will draw enemies' fire to himself before allowing the others to fall in the path of danger, using his armor to provide protection that the rest of the group does not have. Hart uses a sword as his primary weapon, relying on his magic only as an accessory to his attacks, or as defensive measure when required.
