About

forest fae, soul-guide, reaper, golgotha has been called many a thing in his long, quiet existence. he is a ferryman, showing those who die in his woodlands into the netherworld, the afterlife, a place where they may rest for eternity or until the gods call their spirits back into the mortal planes. he soothes and calms, he sews seeds of tranquility and peace, helping those wondering souls adjust and settle on their journey. but he is alone, has been alone for so, so long. reapers in the woods only work in certain areas, and certainly they hardly see one another in their respective territories. perhaps that's why when jasmine came calling, sweet as sugar in the snowy tundra, golgotha could do nothing but answer the flower-clad being. gentility took him, and the spirit guide bound their souls together, sewing with golden threads of life and death until they were inseparable, and following him until the end of all days.

"Pile up that gold around my head. I must take it with me to pay the ferryman."

Design Notes

  • stygian creature neither young nor old, timeless, ageless, and possessing of a macabre beauty, Golgotha makes for a quiescent companion. most similar to that of an elk, he is tall of shoulder and broad of breast. golden ibex antlers protrude from divine golden skull, possessing flames of aureate stalks within open orifices where once eyes may have rest. upon him, this gold spreasd back, great claws of the gods raking upon Golgotha's shoulders and neck, forever reminding him of his creator, of his purpose in life. serenly, behind him a leonine tail goes side to side, glinting with circlets at varying intervals to shine and shimmer and draw the eye to something more peaceful - some say, in the mists of death, these circlets chime together and sing the way into the afterlife. lastly, lying to bed this beautiful beast of life and death and all that whispers in between, a belly of white (once purity stained him as it does any sinner before they fall) and three ivory socks are the last remnants of something he may have been before - something more holy and less burned, something utterly magnificent.
