Despite looking something like a super villain wizard-lawyer hybrid, Oscar is easily the most easy-going of the Foscari family. He’s well-spoken and well-mannered, but can be authoritative and intimidating if need-be, result of his many years in charge of the crime risng. He likes to think of himself as fair and kind and as far as most vampires go, he’s not too far off the mark with that. He kills humans only for necessity, although keeps them alive as long as possible (This can be up to a week under the right circumstances) while he drains them completely to minimize his personal casualties. Some see this as sadistic,
Oscar views it as considerate to the population at large. He’s quite serious most of the time and deals well with the amount of responsibility he has in the family. He has trouble with technology and certain aspects of modern etiquette and dress. He tries very hard to keep himself up to date but understandably falls behind fairly often. He’s also a bit awkward with expressing himself around women and has trouble reprimanding female members of the family who go out of line, usually shifting the job off to one of his brothers.
His manner of dress is incredibly dated and is a sort of hybrid of modern dress and Victorian-era dress, most of his suit coats have double-breasts and long tails. He has been known to wear cravats and ascots before, but most often wears ties, learning that cravats and ascots are no longer as fashionable as he thought.
✦ Story
Oscar was an orphan, born in 1567 in Northern Spain. He ended up in Italy by the time he was 14, where he met Pietro. He noticed how other boys like himself seemed to flock to him as if he offered them some sort of protection or some other reward.
He helped Pietro as best he could and in exchange, he was offered eternal life. He rejected it every time, thinking the old man to just be crazy, but continued to steal for the old man and himself to get by. Most of the other boys, after receiving their “reward” tended to go off on their own, never to be seen again. Oscar, noting Pietro’s apparent age and debility, stayed to make sure he was healthy and safe, unaware that Pietro was actually a vampire.
He didn’t learn this until he noticed that the man never ate. He was 20 at the time. He learned then, that the old man wasn’t crazy, but still rejected the offer of eternal life, finding feeding on blood to be ghastly and having no will to kill anyone. Oscar came to see Pietro as something of a spiritual father or grandfather and though he was coarse and crotchety, he cared for the old man like family.
Eventually as they were able to upgrade to a larger home, they took in orphans for a while instead of just letting them run off once they helped Pietro. It was the only family Oscar ever knew. Through the years, he continued to steal to support all of them and finally, when he was 50, he was caught. Instead of trying to get him jailed for stealing, the shopkeeper who he stole from, shot him. He bled pretty heavily, but managed to get himself back home.
As he bled out, he finally accepted Pietro’s offer of eternal life and became a vampire. He starved for a while at first, still unable to bring himself to feed on other humans, but was assured all the while by his “father” that it was natural, and he was better than them now. He went off for a while on his own, until around the 1700s, to see some of the world and also look for a cure to become human again. Finding nothing, he returned to Pietro who had relocated to Sicily and fashioned a comfortable lifestyle for himself.
Oscar was welcomed back home and found himself a job working in a shop. It was the first honest living he had and spent most of his income on books of all sorts. He went off to university with no real other purpose but to kill time and learn more, so he could figure out a way to “cure” himself, still finding nothing.
Years passed and Pietro’s family expanded with six sons, all of which Oscar didn’t care much for. The lot of them accepted their roles as vampires fairly quickly and didn’t hesitate too much to feed off the blood of their fellow men. In the 1820s when the first seeds of what would become the Foscari crime family were planted, Oscar was given command of his own branch to start protection rackets and steal things to sell back at cheaper prices. He went along with it and eventually settled into the lifestyle, by the 1900s he finally gave up on his dream to become human again.
When they relocated to America, Oscar was given the new job of finding new members for the family, and siring as many vampires as he could, people who he thought the family would benefit from having. Eventually he ended up with his current position, overseeing the finances of the family and the more humane methods of income.
Misc.: He really loves plays and films and award shows. His dream is to own a high class restaurant, despite the fact he can’t taste anything anymore. He also dreams to find a way for vampires to regain their sense of taste for foods. He either accomplished this we decided, or it’s moot because vamps never lost the taste. Haven’t decided yet. He’s given up on wanting to be human again, not bitterly, just deciding he prefers to be nigh immortal. He’s become pretty happy with his life though he doesn’t particularly like killing humans.
He has been Charlie’s boss since Charlie joined the family, was also Rocco’s boss when he started doing the drug trade.

Charlie Boucher
Charlie Boucher is his star pupil, his favorite protege, and the only person he feels like he can truly trust. Despite his family loyalties, there's a kinship he feels towards Charlie, as he is responsible for much of his education after becoming a vampire.
