-This is my secondary sona, primary being Caelus! (Cae exists within my main universe, but I also wanted to make a another, more personal sona that was apart from it)
-Mai (Pronounced “My”) is a human girl that has a demon, named Loki, bound to her by pact. Currently, she lives alone in her apartment, financially supporting herself through freelance art/animation work.
-She's listening to music nearly all the time, not even realizing when she's been sitting still for hours on end doing nothing but drifting away in thought.
-Mai is autistic, selectively mute, and highly anxious, making it difficult for her to communicate properly in certain situations. She has no control over what triggers her anxiety, hence she has no control over when she goes mute. Mai sees it as more of an annoyance than anything else (as if god is nerfing her), even if it brings her into bad situations in life.
-Mai is somewhat nihilistic (although not in an overly negative or overly aggressive manner, i.e do whatever the fuck you want and don't ever care about how others judge you because it doesn't matter) and tends to view the world in a cynical light, rarely putting her trust in anyone else due to her belief that people only act nice in attempt to use her for their own needs. She is quite unsurprised when someone hurts her. At the same time, she can't help but feel and act softer towards those that have shown her kindness, showering them with gifts and praise, almost idolizing them in a way.
-No matter how bad or horrific the situation, she'll always figure out a way to turn it into a joke. This is partially due to the demon's influence on her, but also due to her contradictory personality. Mai isn't ever scared by scary things, but will have wild reflexes (jumping, flinching, hissing) to loud noises and insect buzzing that make her appear to be scared of them.
-When she was younger, she was surrounded by gifted kids, and felt that she was useless because she had no talent that would make her special too. When she was 13, the demon appeared before her and promised to give her powers of her choosing at no cost to her, and she accepted out of desperation without considering any consequences that could possibly follow. The main ability she wished for was the power to bring drawings to life temporarily. She also received the ability to turn invisible for short periods of time, levitate (slightly), and run faster than the average human.
-Even though he promised no cost, the demon now hangs around her all the time, invisible to everyone but her. He feeds off of her emotions to sustain himself, and thus will switch his demeanor between nice and mean all the time in order to provoke them. The demon and Mai are simultaneously friends and enemies because of this.
-She felt euphoric with her new abilities at first, although it soon faded when she realized that showing them off without suspicion would be impossible, even highly dangerous. Not only did she despise the idea of being some test subject, but if she were to actually be suspected of being possessed, the resulting exorcism would kill her. The pact bonded Mai's soul to the demon's, so if the demon's soul was removed from her, her soul would go too. Mai figured out to use her gained powers discreetly, utilizing her main ability to create animations at a faster pace, without the need of assistance from other artists. Instead of having to draw all of the frames, she could instead just direct her characters to act out a scene, as if it were live action.
-When possessed, the demon can make Mai can appear to have several other talents besides art. By using Mai as a physical form for itself, the demon is capable of playing several different instruments (drumset, piano, etc.), even though her only true talent is drawing. Mai's body feels incredibly sore after being used for the demon's extra talents.
-Mai is incredibly scared of fire (whether normal or fused), which doesn't exactly work out in her favor considering her demon has a few abilities connected to said element. He's used them to torment her in the past.
-The demon can possess her in two entirely different ways:
-CONTROL: The demon takes control of her mind and body, in essence, shoving Mai into the passenger seat. Nothing physical about Mai changes (Although I'd draw her with red eyes if possessed as an indicator). The demon can do this with or without her consent, and will usually do so if she finds herself mute.
-FUSION: Mai and the demon become one, creating an entirely new persona. Some of Mai's main features stay, but her skin color and eyes turn red, and she gains the demon's features and abilities, sprouting horns, a tail, claws, and fangs. The fusion form has Mai’s personality, but is rid of her selective mutism/anxiety, giving her a highly chaotic and impulsive nature that can be damaging, despite the fact that she has a higher pain tolerance/fast regeneration in this form. Mai has to consent in order to become the fusion.
