Altus, born to the queen of magic, was her pride and joy; his ability to hold sway over the dead was quite the feather in the cap of her magical force, whose task was as much to guard her son as to further her own ends. When Arturo's influence would have stirred her boy's heart against her, she ordered them killed, and in so doing set in motion a chain of heartbreak like no other. Unable to stomach existence without his beloved, Altus rose his lover from the grave, swallowing back bile and guilt to tie them to their earthly body, destroyed as it was. Keeping the ragged form close, for comfort and reminder, Altus drifted in a sea of madness, driven only by grief and vengeance against the one whom he feels to be responsible- not knowing the part his mother played in his undoing.
