Edamame 'Mei' Helios

Edamame grew up in with her two moms and eight siblings. She is the second eldest in her family, and enjoys taking care of her little siblings. However at the age of 10 the Sun Temple, worshipping the pseudo legendary Volcarona, visited the countries around the Tosa such as Tongeland, Tersia, Manrithia, etc, looking to recruit followers for their every growing monastery. Edamame, enamored by the idea of travelling and learning new things, begged her mothers to enroll. The two mothers, although heartbroken by the thought of their daughter moving far away, complied after seeing how Edamame looked so excited.

When arriving there Edamame being a social butterfly managed to befriend a young Comfey named Anela who was born and raised in the temple, and began showing her the ways around underground routes and secret hideouts. The Sun temple monks go around recruiting people around neighbouring countries, trying to reel them into their program. Truthfully the temple was a haven, a peaceful area to learn, but as time went on, the temple began to change slowly. Like suddenly well known staff began disappearing, replaced with other people who claim “they got too close to the sun” and therefore perished.

Around this time Edamame is around 18, she is a well known woman around the temples and a very trusted acolyte and big ol nerd, she spent a lot of time in the libraries and underground hideaways that Anela taught her to navigate when she first arrived. She has a sneaky suspicion about these new staff, and while in these hidden temples, eavesdropped on their conversation. She learns that there looking for this sacred text of Volcarona to destroy, and Edamame stumbles upon it locked away deep down in this underground temple.

Edamame takes it, she doesn’t want it in the wrong hands, and although she has no real idea who these people are, she doesn’t want to cause an uproar. So instead she opts to telling Anela about everything and runs off trying to protect this sacred text from the group (Anela and her become pen pals and send updates back and forth).
