Hu qi

• Orb is required to be somewhere near them, they cannot go far from it as their soul is bound to it.
• Though they can come to life and move, they spend most of their time as a statue, unmoving and observant.

Hu Qi is an ancient spirit that has vowed its time to serving humanity in gratitude for past gifts. It is very kind, generous, and supportive towards humans that earn its favor. Though it is gentle, it is regarded as being very shy and doesn't often show itself unless someone is very loyal to it in return. 

It prefers to watch the world around it with quiet eyes, studying how things flow and change as time goes on. It wakes to help or protect those it bonds with.

A deceptive and humble spirit of good luck, its muted appearance begets its true ability to help people turn their lives around. It spends most of its time as a silent observer, an inconspicuous brass statue, but to those who truly put faith in its power, it comes alive and blesses them and their families with good fortune. 

It has existed for a very long time, and its creator has long faded from the world, but it's said in myth that it was forged by a great craftsman who's work took a life of its own, becoming the vessel for a kind and wise spirit that vowed to give back to humanity in thanks for the beautiful home that it had given them.

Though it isn't flashy or coated in gold like some other guardians of its ilk, it's far more powerful than many of the others. Perhaps, because the few that do believe in it, believe in it so fervently it feels a great desire to protect them with all its being.

Whatever its spirit was before taking residence in this vessel will probably never be known, as it does not speak for itself.
