Quincy was one of my first pokemon characters during Ultimate Battle Frontier 2010; Quilava had always been a favorite pokemon of mine and I decided to make one for my UBF trainer’s starter for the OCT. So I tried going for a more openly friendly sort of personality with his own little quirks, to help fill the "right-hand pokemon" niche and balance the rest of the team out.
I think I (naively) assumed that Quincy would end up being the designated favorite of the team, and he's still my trainer’s favorite quite easily. But Valor and some of the others started to take more of my focus and became more interesting for me develop, and Quincy's development sorta slowed down, or only happened in tandem with other characters. This actually didn't bother me too much though? Since I feel his nature appealed well to very gradual development alongside his trainer.
So kinda formed the headcanon that he’d grow along with the team, but b/c he's more comfortable in his own skin already, it's much more subtle compared to everyone else. For now Quincy's character is one I can get into quickly, but not to the extent where I feel the rush to develop him at a fast pace, and I'm content with that. Maybe in the future I might, but for now the bulk of his development is one and off in AUs and the like.
His physical design has been adjusted a little but had more or less remained the same, and notable traits include:
Bright red eyes; dark blue, chin-length hair; ectomorph; wears a Shell bell amulet.
