The scythe part is made of bone but is protected using the metal armor like joints. It pulls down on her body and causes excruciating pain, she needs a numbing agent injected into her back often, it isn't working as well as her body begins to get used to the medication. It took 672 experiments before her to get it right, she is 673 and was one of few survivors.
