A Sea of Blood
Mere days after laying their eggs, many Murres took to the ocean to hunt for their ilk. This winter, however, the ocean would not be so kind... Fish and krill were suddenly in short supply, and predators stalked the depths for any food at all. This intense hunger and predation nearly wiped out the Murre Kenkus for good. As more and more perished, the eggs were abandoned.. only to be retrieved by lonely Penguins.
The few hatchlings to survive were harbored by Penguins without any mates or children of their own. Although cared for in their youth, they would soon find that it was time to hunt on their own. Their tutelage under these fellow water-dwellers would soon be put to the test.
The Tainted Wood
Sikrinerk, skilled with bow and hook, as well as flipper and beak... She found it far more easy to survive than her kin. While the others struggled, she found her niche within the ocean and the woods, until the land began to wither. The sea remained desolate, soon to be joined by the decaying forests. Death was once more all around her.
Forced from her home in hopes of finding new stocks, she traveled to Yershver. Unable to gain much from hunting, she turned to pickpocketing and other means of thievery, only to purchase whatever food she could.
