Background

Jacques Rosseau was born only a few years after the French Revolution ended. When Napolean came into power his family moved to New Orleans. There he was raised around people he never really understood. He always felt smarter then everybody.

Until he met her. Beautiful chocolate skinned creole girl with curly hair hidden in a scarf all day. She was beautiful yet obviously smarted then him. A proud black and native woman who taught black pride. He wanted her. He needed her. He got her.

But their love did not last long. She was raped and murdered by some men who did not want proud black and native woman walking around. They got let off too. He watched it with his own eyes as her rapist got off and her parents cried in the court room. He always wanted to be a lawyer. But that shit made it clear what he had to do. He became a lawyer to protect and avenge woman like her. After hearing about the events in Sinclair he moved there to help them. His first five jobs were failures. All the men got off easy. Then came little Noël. Sole survivor of an unthinkable even. Oh how she reminded him of her. He had to help her. He promised her protection from the men he was friends with if she took a stand against the men who hurt her. And they won. Now he is winning cases left and right with his happy little adopted daughter at his side. He is a smart ass snark but very suave with the ladies. Real French man ya know? Still, he feels mighty lonely and very very lost.
