HISTORY//
A creature born from the legendary weapon of note, Svird d'Kor'Teclaire, in result of the Battle of Fate. He watches over the Masaglyph maze to help guide those who enter -- either through or away depending on their intentions.
Kor'teclaire was named by one of the warriors from the Battle of Fate, who had heard legends of mysterious creatures born from places of brutality. The man named the creature plainly, after its location and sake of birth.
Before the maze was abandoned as a holy, forbidden place, offerings and gifts were left for Kor'teclair -- believing gaining favor with him would also gain favor with the Will of the Place of Power the maze was built around. Over time, the place was viewed with more importance, and those allowed within grew fewer and fewer. Eventually people stopped visiting the maze, and it obtained a 'forbidden' reputation of sorts; that those who enter would get lost forever. It is most likely this thought came from the belief that the mysterious guide within would no longer help travelers due to lack of offerings.
In reality, it came from a an ill-intentioned trespasser wanting to access the Place of Power for their own evil purposes. The story that the maze consumed the man spread further than the reputation of the man himself.
Since this time, Kor'teclair has lived a lonely and lingering existence. The rare adventurer being an uncommon spark of interest along a vast, enduring residence within the maze.

PERSONALITY//
Kor is very pure and curious. He is extremely innocent to the ways of the world, and knows only the maze he lives in and the sparse tidbits learned from the rare visitor. Although he would like to leave Masaglyph, he feels its his duty to watch over it and guide any who enter.
Although he does not understand the ways of mortals, he can sense one's heart well. He does not like those with dark wills entering his maze, and will purposely mislead them. Kor is unconsciously drawn to those with strong wills.

As a kinda note to myself, I guess?
I hope to work out a plot where a mortal traveled to Masaglyph and met Kor face-to-face. He sung many tales and taught Kor a great deal about the world, remaining in the area to frequently visit. Kor'teclaire came to love this mortal, and with this love truly experienced loss and mortality for the first time.
It was an innocent, pure kind of love--established through time spent together and guidance, not the kind of romance. Losing this presence was very hard on Kor, and he keeps a very careful distance from any that now visit Masaglyph.
Due to this, Kor is forgotten--known only as the 'mysterious guide' mentioned in old songs and tales about the maze.
