Lilavaire

Secretly the mother of Alteris, though she never discloses this information. Lilavaire becomes pregnant to a demon soldier, and despite pressure to abandon the baby and reassurance that no one would blame her if she did, she keeps him. Two years later the soldiers return to reclaim their offspring from the village, leaving Lilavaire devastated.

Alteris as an adult flees to the village as a wanted traitor to his kingdom and takes up residence in an abandoned barracks. Later goes into the village where he is rejected and despised for his demon heritage, but Lilavaire, instantly recognizing him, shows him kindness and secretly allows him into her home. She learns of his plans to kill the Demon Prince or die trying, and she dedicates herself to his cause. For this cause Lilavaire rallies and heads a resistance, sacrificing herself in order to take down an elite army with her. She becomes a revered saint and hero figure, loved and honored by Alteris especially. It only becomes known to Alteris' partner that she is his mother--Alteris is never aware.
