Cayo Hueso

A fisherman in Key West drew his nets up one day, pulling an infant sharkdog up with his catch. All the residents of Key West banded together to nurse him back to life and raise him. That pup was no other than Cayo Hueso himself, who was given the same nickname as the island he lived on, and quickly grew to become a popular resident of the island. Everyone generally calls him Hueso, but if he sees someone as a true close friend, he will asked to be called Cayo. Lacking a real family as his own, he took on a mindset of the world as his family, and he treats everyone he encounters as a brother or sister as long as they return the sentiments. Accepting of everyone, carefree to a fault, Hueso can turn a bit vicious when his anger is sparked, although it isn't easy to draw that side of him out. 

He lives in an underwater shipwreck off the coast, not far from the shore. While he hates the cold, Key West never has chilly waters even in the winter, so he's very content here. He is mostly an aquatic sharkdog, although he does love coming up onto the sand to bask in the sun or spend time with his friends. While most people from Key West can't stand tourists, Hueso actually loves them, because through them he can come to understand the world outside of his island. He loves stories of other places, and the fact that he has never seen them makes them seem almost like a fairy tale. Despite how easy it would be for him to pack up and travel the world, he is far too lazy to do so.

Hueso's most defining personality trait is his laziness. He spends the vast majority of the day napping or sunbathing, and even when he is awake, he tends to do everything slowly. He believes in living a happy life, to the point that he utterly lacks a conscience - he believes people are inherently motivated by their quest for happiness, and he doesn't look down on those who do bad things in order to achieve their own happiness. You robbed a bank? Who cares, as long as you're living your life to the fullest with the money you stole. You ate a sailor? Who cares, as long as you found him delicious. Because of this, even though Hueso has a lot of positive personality traits, he is actually not really a 'good person.' He may not do these things himself, but the majority of his friends are criminals.
