Bod Chodling is an adventurous young man with an exciting future ahead of him. 

Bod comes from a long line of Gnomes living in their little Gnome village deep in a valley in the forest. Back home, his favourite past-times were throwing rocks, hanging out with his girlfriend, and bothering others. His mother, an avid knitter, and his father, and avid fanatic of his mother, did their best to raise a strong and kind boy. They succeeded in one of these things. Now all they could do was worry. 

Bod and his girlfriend Courtney were always too big for their little village and always agreed that one day they would run away and make it big in the city. When the day came for Bod to fly the coop and go on his first big adventure, he swore he would bring back something real awesome for Courtney. So he set off with his handsome red hat from his mother, and his cool wooden stick passed down from his father, and he knew that great things were waiting for him outside the valley. 

Bod did many great things, many terrible things, and many things that were kind of OK. He made some new friends, fought heaps of guys, completed a secret mission for The Hand of Yartar and even began a promising career in mural painting. However, everything he knew would be changed forever when greed got the better of him. After one long and hard-fought battle, he came across a room full of peculiar objects including a mirror that he thought Courtney would be real keen on. He went to gather his loot, he caught his reflection in the mirror and realized the world was not as whimsical as he had once thought. It was huge, and cruel, and mysterious... But it could be mastered. On this journey he had been laughed at and thrashed by adults many times his size, but he would show them. It was not time to be a child anymore. He left the mirror where it stood, doffed his hat, and began his new life in his cool Dwarven helmet made of gold.

Back home, Courtney grows worried that her idiot boyfriend is dead somewhere. As she gathers her gear, Bod's mother comes in to give her something - she wouldn't be any good out there with a cold head, after all.
