Story

Aurélien, youngest of three, was born into a wealthy but cold family. They were a typical picture-perfect, strive for something greater, make us love you type of family. From the start, Aurélien was already out of that picture.

It started young, when Aurélien first showed signs of muscular dystrophy in his legs, struggling to walk for certain distances or keep his balance for extended periods of time. A couple of years later, he was diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome after several fainting spells, and a while after that with fibromyalgia that had worsened due to his limited mobility. During this time, his parents spent a lot of time and money to try and "fix" Aurélien, hoping somehow they could find the right doctors that would simply cure his disabilities. Of course, there was no such thing. There were medications and things that could alleviate his issues, but that wasn't what they were searching for. The moment they realized they had what they considered a broken child, they shut him out.

As a result, Aurélien was moved to live in the furthest wing of the manor - like a doll on a shelf, out of sight and out of mind. From then on, he grew in relative isolation, only gaining occasional company from his sister or the house servants. Even that dwindled over time when both his siblings were allowed to move out and make something of themselves, while Aurélien was forced to remain confined in his home. In his loneliness, he turned to learning various hobbies and crafts - he hoped that, somehow, he could prove he was worth something to his parents too. It never worked however, as they turned a blind eye to his art and desperate attempts to gain their attention. In their minds, he was already a disappointment to them, and it would forever remain that way.

Eventually though, Aurélien would make company with a dream god known as Anatole, first through his own dreams which he just believed were a blissful fantasy. Everything turned on its head however when Anatole showed up at his home one day, and over time the two solidifed a bond that lead to a more romantic connection, and for the first time in a long time Aurélien finally felt things would be okay.

• aurelien is a dainty, which means the stockings on his hooved digitigrade legs are part of his body. they don't fold or fall down, and cannot be removed or altered.
• main hobbies include: paper scene crafting, metal/jewelry working, poetry, flower pressing, insect pinning, and piano.
• conditions: fibromyalgia, POTS, muscle dystrophy, and weak immune system. has mobility issues bc of these, and goes in between using a cane and wheelchair
• conversational, borderline fluent, in french as is the rest of his family
• he wears a gold, heart shaped key around his neck at almost all times
