Percy's parents were refugees who fled from the Tenebris Saeculorum Rift, a world locked in a never-ending medieval age. They fled to modern Earth to escape bounty hunters, who seeked them out to treat a disease plaguing their kingdom. The elixir needed for the treatment required unicorn parts, which are invaluable for medicinal purposes and potion-brewing. On the run, his father Epoch protected his wife, Faer, who was pregnant with Percy at the time.
After escaping, the couple later purchased a cheap house in Eltonville shortly after Percy's birth, and they now both work steady jobs. Percy later rediscovered the gateway, named the Door Tree, between the worlds contained in his closet. It was the same gateway his parents used to escape. He travels between the worlds to gather ingredients to be used in potion-making, an art which has heavily captivated him since.
