Labrat Info

Labrat's Basic info: 

All "Labrat"'s are Dangan Ronpa OC's who attended Kawanishi Jodo Elementary and Middle School Prefecture for Astounding Children, casually referred to as Kawajodo. All Labrat's share the same select physical qualities: red/brown-reddish eyes, and white hair. Furthermore, they all have a unique bar code somewhere easily accessible on the body. 

Kawajodo School Public Information:

Kawajodo is not a well known school except for in the conversations of wealthy, busy men and women who can't be saddled with children, or those on the run from the law. All that is needed to enroll the child into Kawajodo, is to give full custody to the schools founder (last name first name), Jodo Homura. Therin, the school is a great option for parents who don't have time to take care of a child, or simply don't want to. Legally speaking, this familial relation is how the school avoids any goal destroying lawsuits-- hefty bribes and calling what the school does 'homeschooling,' avoids most trouble they could reach, so long as they meet the given requirements to assure an education is being given, which they do. It is, among those interested in giving their children to the school, known that hte school tries it's best to make SHSL's out of whatever they get. 

Kawajodo School Private Information: 

Kawajodo is mostly a front for allowing borderline (but not definitively) inhumane experiments on young children to see if you can actively choose to make someone a SHSL at whatever topic you give them. It's founder, Jodo Homura, was an exceptionally bright reserve course student who decided to make it her lifes mission to manually 'create' SHSL's. The expirments, while definitely morally dubious, and raise way too many ethical questions-- try to remain as ethical as they physically can, while still allowing themselves to explore new things. 

Making a "Labrat:" 

Labrat's are students from Kawajodo. This upbringing leaves them all a few things in common: they all were assigned a specific talent to try and make perfect at a young age, they have no recollection of anything family oriented, and were never told to care about them. More specifically, most and if not all labrats are confined into three era's (they aren't called that IC, it's just OOC to help you figure out what they'd be like), rather selfishly based off of my OC's. 

If your labrat is a 3rd year, like Toyotomi, then their method of teaching SHSL was by spending most of their education time just trying to get them to do their talent. For example, Toyotomi was intended to be the Ulitmate Lifeguard. He spent most of his time repeatedly doing lifeguard training over and over again. Most people in Toyotomi's year did not achieve their needed SHSL, and did not meet standards of SHSL's almost entirely. 

If your labrat is a 2nd year, like Hirobayashi, then they have just entered the Experimental Era of the school, in which Hirobayashi started running invasive (but nonlethal) experiments to see how the human psyche ticks. There are a few SHSL batches outside of Hirobayashi, but they share a similar story to Hirobayashi of being talented in something other than their given SHSL subject. (Hirobayashi was meant to be a pianist.) They see more success than second year, due to Hirobayashi's meddling, switching around SHSL's last minute, but it is still not amazing, and not exactly the goal Kawajodo set out to do. 

If your labrat is a 1st year, like Jin, then they were taught and experimented on fully underneath Hirobayashi's experimental guidance. They have a drastically better success rate, due to what can be described as an addiction, almost, to their talent. They do not have to love it, but they are almost always feeling some sort of compulsion to do the task. While there are more SHSL's in total in this year, and they are closer to the intended goal, they either lost out due to their SHSL being contested by someone with real world experience, or the actual talent is shifted slightly-- (for example, an Ultimate Hacker becoming the Ultimate Virus Creator). These talents more often than not tend to be very specific, or niche. 

Important General Bullet Points: 

• Labrat's must have: an originally assigned talent, white hair, red eyes, and a barcode somewhere easily accessible on the body. 
• Most labrats, if they are Ultimates, are not Ultimates in the talent assigned, or if they are, the talent is very niche to begin with. 
• Labrat's do not have a real concept of family, only being exposed to the concept once they are outside of the school walls.
• Most labrats are extremely sheltered due to the clinical enviroments the school provides. 
• If the labrat is in third year or second year, and is a SHSL, they are almost guaranteed to not have a SHSL anything like what they were assigned. 
• If the labrat is a first year, they might have an Ultimate much closer to their assigned SHSL. 
• While certainly emotionally neglected and emotionally stunted, labrats are valuable to Kawajodo and would never allow staff to physically, sexually, or needlessly verbally assault them with their knowledge. 
• Most labrats know eachother! If only vaguely, it's a pretty small school.
