Calista Nolan was born on December 28th 1993, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Three years after her birth her parents divorced, she went to live with her mother with some visits of her father. At age 6, Callie went to live with her father so that Amanda, her mother, could finish her studies.

At the same time that Callie went to live with her father, he married another woman, who had a daughter: Sarah Nolan, two years older than Callie. Callie and Sarah always got along and still treat each other as sisters.

Amanda, after completing her studies, decided not to try to have Callie move back with her, since Callie was so happy with Sarah. But Amanda didn't stay a day without seeing her daughter, always making clear how much she loves her daughter.

As she grown, Callie began to have more and more distinct opinions from her parents and more like those of her sister Sarah. With the support of her mother and sister, Callie radically changed her hair, made tattoos, put piercings and decided never to restrict who she was to please her father and his wife.

As soon as Sarah found to be a witch, she told everything to Callie and introduced her to the supernatural world. So Callie found to be something called "mutation", a human being with characteristics of supernatural beings.

In the case of Callie, she has the ability to sense the emotions, feelings and well-being of others (Empathy), including fauna and flora (Ecological Empathy), and has small control over the mind of living beings and can create small illusions. The difficulty to sense and manipulate the minds of living beings gets progressively higher as they phylogenetically approach mammals. In mammals, Callie can just feel their minds (their emotions, feeling, well-being) and create small illusions.

This made the two sisters even closer. Callie fully trusted in Sarah, as well as Sarah trusted and took into consideration the opinions of Callie. Thus, Sarah also decided to not lie about who she was and told her parents that she was lesbian.

Callie watched in horror her sister be kicked out of home by their parents and can't help but feel guilty for having recommended that Sarah came out of the closet. Talking to Amanda, Callie managed to get Sarah a place to live and someone to sustain her until she finish high school and got a job.

Shortly after, Callie came out of the closet as pansexual and without waiting her father's reactions, announced that she would live with her mother and moved in the following week. Callie spent a year living with Sarah and Amanda, until Sarah was able to rent a small apartment and moved.

Callie managed to join the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and still attends Portuguese. Callie often sleeps in Sarah's apartment, since it's closer to the university. Lately Callie has tried to not sleep in Sarah's apartment, for wanting to give more privacy to Sarah and her girlfriend, Ara.

The relationship of Callie and her father is not very good, but she always tries to treat him with education. On the other hand, her relationship with Ara only improves, even if Callie still feel a little jealous about having to share Sarah. Despite her strong temperament, Callie is always surrounded by friends and get along with almost everyone who lives with her.

Callie does not know, but she's the muse Calliope and Ara, Sarah's girlfriend, is the muse Urania. When Callie is living as Calliope with the other Muses and Mnemosyne, she is best friends with Queer and the two are inseparable. As well as Queer, Callie hates Melpomene and Polyhymnia. She gets along with Urania and Clio, and is indifferent to Terpsichore, Erato and Thalea.
