Ami

short history: ami was born into the same family as aesop, a family esteemed for producing butlers and servants for the richest and most powerful groups in the country. for those born into the family there are really only two options- to continue the career or to be estranged from the family. unlike aesop, though, who left the family in pursuit of his own life, ami took advantage of his position and continued the career he was forced into. with the standard talent for the family with the added appeal of his cute, innocent personality, it wasn't hard for ami to find work in an immigrant family that basically equated to royalty in their homeland. while he's never done anything but serve the family, doing everything from standard butler-duties to teaching their children how to play video games, having such a personal relationship with people in power has allowed ami more privelege than most in a less limiting career would have.

personality: for almost all of those who know him, ami appears completely harmless. raised to be a servant his whole life, ami seems extremely submissive and childlike. he is timid almost to the point of being erratic, is a crybaby and tends to stay quiet unless he's asked a question, taking care of someone else, or going off on a soft-spoken daydream. however, ami actually uses his childlike demeanor to manipulate others, guilt-tripping and playing dumb in order to get what he wants. he treats life as a game and has few actual trusted friends, despite being around the same people for practically his whole life. the few friends he does have are those he keeps completely separate from his life as a butler, and by threatening those friends comes the only way one is able to break his innocent facade.

hobbies: collecting beanie babies, listening to bubblegum pop, high-stakes gambling

relationships: while ami is related to aesop by blood, aesop has been estranged by the family due to not keeping his career as a butler so ami rarely gets the chance to speak to the guy. one of his few genuine friends is maya, a flamboyant florist-turned-assassin kia who is one of the few people he can be himself with.

Ami is currently dating Poe, an eccentric manager of a questionable casino. While Ami is formally listed as Poe's butler, Ami holds equal, if not more power in their relationship. Their relationship is not public and only close friends and family know about it; to all others, Ami is just another of Poe's servants, which is just the way both of them like it. Ami is fully aware of the questionable things that go on in Poe's casino and really couldn't give a damn.

fun fact: ami's short tail was a genetic mutation and none of his other family members possess the trait. it pretty badly affects his balance and it's not out of the question to see him fall flat on his face from time to time.
