Ghirahim Diantia

Bio

Ghirahim was born a reincarnated demon: a demon who fell with regret or hatred in their soul, choosing to reincarnate rather than move on. Incredibly rare, this phenomenon harbors an exponentially low chance of retaining memories of the past life. No memories of his past incarnation were ever recovered.

He was born among a human family in Skyloft, only two years after the floating island was thrust into the sky by Hylia herself to protect what remained of humanity. Once his mother realized that he was, in fact, a demon and did not just have a rare skin condition, she turned against him, no longer showing him love and compassion. When his father died suddenly when he was ten years old, his mother became verbally and physically abusive, taking her anger and grief out on him. He thus isolated himself, his two elder sisters unable to reconnect with and help him. On his 17th birthday, he jumped off of the side of Skyloft in an attempt to end his own life, instead falling into what is now Lake Hylia. He fell in love with the surface, but was soon found by a patrol of demons. Upon realizing that he was alone and scared, the demons took him in, giving him a family and a home. He trained and quickly rose to Army General, then being turned into a sword spirit of his own decision, showcasing his loyalty for Demise and the demons. 

When Hylia came out victorious in the Great War, he fell into an emotional and mental slump, living on the surface for 2000 years until he knocked Hylia's reincarnation out of the sky, planning to use her to revive Demise in a selfish attempt to give himself a sense of purpose again. While he succeeded in reviving Demise, however, Demise betrayed his loyalty and trust. From then on, Ghirahim swore never to follow the Demon King again. After he awoke from Demise's defeat, he left the land of Hylia to travel the world, only for those travels to be interrupted 3000 years later when the new Demon King, Ganondorf Dragmire, summoned his services and forced him to work for him. As a result of the verbal abuse from Ganondorf, his previous mental instability and self-deprecating thoughts resurfaced.

When the Princess's army took over the desert, he returned to his world travels, only to be interrupted once again 800 years later by the same man as before, this time pleading for him to aid the Crystal Gems in the war effort. Even though it took much convincing, Ghirahim eventually swore his loyalty and services to Rose Quartz, joining the war effort, to which he fought valiantly until the end. He was there on the battlefield when the remaining Diamond Authority launched the Corrupting Light, having spared Carnelian from the attack by erecting a barrier around himself that accidentally caught her inside. With the war over, Ghirahim left Hyrule, resuming his world travels. 

He lived in Victorian England for about 30 years before moving on to explore the states. Around 1957 AD, he finally settled down, finding a place in the American state of Calorton. In 2005, he met a group of other musicians at a concert, quickly befriending them. The group of five later decided to start a rock band of their own. With his bandmates Elrond, Maya, Jake, and Nick, they formed the American rock band Panic! At The Disco, quickly becoming a worldwide sensation after their hit single, I Write Sins, Not Tragedies, rose to popularity. They have since stuck together to create album after album, laughing together and touring the world with their concerts.

Personality

On the outside, he's very upbeat and carefree. On the inside, he's a wreck. Having been raised in an abusive household where his thoughts and feelings didn't matter, he often bottles up his problems until they explode. Having been through what he has, however, has made him a very compassionate and empathetic person, often able to help others who have suffered similarly to what he has. His fatal flaw is his pride, not wanting to seem weak and talk to people about his problems. He only opens up to those he trusts with his life, being his band mates and his wife.

Fun Facts

• Apples are his favorite fruit, and he loves baked goods.
• He's a cat person
  • He has an orange tabby cat named Phoenix who just jumped aboard one of their trucks after a concert one night and hitched a ride. The band decided to keep her and now she's pretty much their mascot.
• Since the dawn of time, he's loved music. It's always been very calming for him and a way of escape, hence why he is so passionate about it.
• He is also capable of fusing with gems
  • He has only fused with Pearl, though.
• He held a grudge against Ganondorf for the entirety of the Gem War, the two losing contact after Ghirahim left Hyrule. They reconnected in 2012 on Twitter, moving on from their past arguments and slowly becoming close friends. They, along with Link, get together every Friday night to play video games together. 
• He is a total fucking nerd
  • His favorite movie is Labyrinth.
  • His favorite book series is easily Percy Jackson.
  • His favorite video game series is Assassin's Creed , specifically Ezio's trilogy. 
    • He is also a fan of Smash, Rayman, and other platformers.
    • He loves horror games, such as the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series.
    • He loves Animal Crossing and his favorite villager is Raymond 
• He doesn't require sleep nor food in order to survive anymore, though he enjoys eating and sleeping regardless. The only thing he requires in order to live is water. 
• He is very far-sighted, and needs reading glasses as a result.
