Theseus Blackstar

Like many of deep space-dwelling humanity, he is visibly augmented with mechanical prostheses. Theseus prefers to stay well-dressed and gravitates to his favourite colours found in space. Rather playful, he doesn't shy away from glitter, makeup or feminine styles.

• Despite appearing in his 50's, he is older but effectively immortal due to lossless replicating nanite cels in his system negating senescence.

Like his namesake, Theseus is adventurous and outgoing. Very excitable and eager for new experience. Because Theseus is often very fixated on big ideas and concepts, he is often aloof to the needs of those close to him, leaving many to feel left behind. Despite this, he is talented in leadership and public speaking. Compassion features heavily in his dealings with others although some of his more negative aspects include his tendency to be uncompromising, entitled and cold. Theseus is surprisingly unjudgemental and quick to forget a slight.

He is known to take excellent care of his employees, and will personally handle medical expenses for mishaps on the job and sometimes out. However, he can be unforgiving when safety is knowingly disregarded. He loves taking his favourites on safari to exotic planets.

Early on, a younger Theseus acquired his degree in robotics and engineering but did little with it, leaving his parents frustrated while he spent all his free time designing and drawing fantastical, da Vinci-esque machinery concepts that never went anywhere. Instead, he worked as a vehicle mechanic, living hand-to-mouth in a small downtown apartment as he struggled to find his work more fulfilling than his ideas.

Eventually he got a job to work on a badly damaged FTL engine for one of starfleet's battlecruisers, where he quickly realized a way he might reconcile his interests and skills. He received a hefty commission for such an enormous job and used it to found Blackstar Industries with several of his colleagues. He was soon drafting up ideas for elegant, FTL travel solutions for every class of ship. As the team grew with their success, they were eventually able to manufacture their own materials and the Industries opened up their own plants. Once Blackstar created the patent for an engine that could get a behemoth-class mining and cargo vessel from Andromeda I to the Milky Way in under 4 minutes, their status as a Fortune company was undisputed.

These days, Theseus spends most of his time travelling deep space, overseeing the installation of relays and other company work, such as private shipping or military contracts.
