Avens

Avens is a female jewel beetle and a student of Spellcraft Academy. She is one of three insect students in the current enrolled class, the others being Prince Yasin the spider and Avens's childhood friend Farah. Her story specifically delves into the mysteries of the organization dubbed "WICKED Creatures".

Avens has an eccentric personality and strange mannerisms that outcast her from the rest of the Academy students. She has a love for unresolved criminal cases and strategy games. Her entire life is dedicated to studying mysteries, often dreaming of being the first person to solve age-old puzzles. She believes that her "duties" leave her no time for leisure or relationships, though she eventually develops feelings for Farah.

As a manipulation mage, she has the power of psionic induntation, or the ability to overload another's mind. Despite stating that she can only project very small bouts of emotion, memory, etc. into others' minds, she is actually capable of causing extreme psychological damage, although she has only subjected someone to this experience one single time. She is also able to control this power at will. As a young adult, she was able to find a job and found a small apartment to call her own. During this time in her life, she struggled to find purpose. She was also witness to a strange magical happening, which ended up being the first incident marking the return of Shepherd Greenwood, a wanted criminal and the mastermind of WICKED. Avens became embroiled in what she had experienced, wanting to find the absolute truth of the situation. While researching, she was discovered by the headmaster of Spellcraft Academy, Orion, and recruited to his school.

Her anthro form is based on the herbivorous beetle species S. aequisignata. As such, she is a vegetarian. She also does not have blood, though she can "bleed" green hemolymph fluid.
