Silent . Distant . Alien

River is an oddity among the residents of Hawthorne Hospital.  It is not the spirit of someone who died in the hospital, but instead the embodiment of a river that ran through the land in ancient times.  Due to this, River is truly unknowable.  It cannot, or doesn't want to, communicate.  Interactions with the other residents consister of it simply drifting through the area.  On rare occassions River will take an interest in the activities of one of the residents, watching them silently for days on end.
