-Grandfather disowned Roy's father for marrying his mother, who was from a different background. When the father and mother died, however, the grandfather, stricken with grief, asked to have the little boy back. The relationship between the grandfather (Grandpa Rigraso) and Roy is still very tense. (the family is all named with 'r' names.)
-a little petty thief at times, he is somewhat of a bully to smaller kids, but with a secret romantic and sensitive side.
