She's named first and foremost after Shot at the Night by The Killers (how? Well, the singer's name is Brandon Flowers, and her name on Tomodachi Life is Brandi Ferns, so. Pfft.) and I know being named after the singer has nothing to do with that song in particular but the sentiment is there. She's also partially named after the song Brandy (yes, the one in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) just... because.
