The ambition and indulgence he burned through in his youth left him jaded and stagnating in his current development. Weak to vices, he is either lost in the throes of pleasure or wrought with a sensitivity to pain.
Most interactions with Ad Hoc feature a stoic and taciturn business man, a persona that he finds the most comfortable inhabiting. There are few things that can break through his resolve and reach the tender humanity that lay beneath.
Arguably, Ad Hoc’s history is not worth thinking about. Whatever happened in his past fails to speak for what he chooses to do in the present. The poor habits reinforced by a turbulent lifestyle only exacerbated the darkness that was already there to begin with. Supposedly, he was born in a poor mountain region ravaged by endless storms but there is not much else to know about him before his life in organized crime began.
Ad Hoc arrives in a new city, faceless and nameless. His lack of ties and muddled background slotted him as a convenient scapegoat for crimes, serving a sentence in the place of someone more valuable, but Ad Hoc refused to let it unfold that way. Ad Hoc had a natural talent to survive against all odds, embodying one of the core values in organized crime: preservation.
Whether Ad Hoc was trying to find something stable remains a mystery behind his taciturn manner of speech and impassive stoicism. Even if he worked alongside some groups for years he was never fully accepted among their ranks, seemingly barred due to his heritage or lack of legacy. Exceptions have been made in the past, but plainly, he was a man that could not be trusted, which was not only known but proven time and time again to be true. It made others unwilling to do business with him, something Ad Hoc remedied by giving them no other choice.
