Overview

Being the daughter of two of Overwatch's most prominent agents - Doctor Angela Ziegler and Genji Shimada - she is heavily targeted by those with malicious intent wanting reward, ransom or simply status. She doesn't let the amount of times she's been kidnapped or chased discourage her, however, keeping an eternally chipper attitude. She has a passion for herpetology and speaks a large number of languages due to being surrounded by native speakers of different languages for her entire childhood.

It should also be noted Hikaru Ziegler is capable of summoning a dragon she calls "Tia." The dragon is large, gold, and capable of changing its shape with a few consistent features. She summons this dragon with a nerf gun, with the command "リュウは私を守ってくれます!"{Ryū wa watashi o mamotte kuremasu!}[Ryu protects me!]

Genji Shimada father
Hikaru adores her father and his dragon, though as an active agent of Overwatch he is busy at most times. He always will attempt to make time for her, though, and is not above dropping work to go play a game with her.
Angela Ziegler mother
Hikaru worries for her mother more than she should, as she knows her job is dangerous. When she and Angela spend time together, she will hold on tightly. She loves her mother greatly, and Angela loves her back. There have been instances where, when a far younger Rue had had enough of waiting for her mother to be done with her speeches, she has picked Rue up and given her attention while continuing to deliver her speech, unphased.
Cole Cassidy uncle/godfather
Cole is standardly Genji and Angela's go-to babysitter, and is one of Hikaru's favourite people in the whole world. He accidentally caused her to summon her dragon for the first time in one of their games, pretending to be a Talon Agent while she pretended to be an Overwatch Hero. When she attempted to mimic her uncle Hanzo with her own spin, she summoned Tia. Cole holds no hard feelings, and regularly helps her pull pranks on others around the base.
