He's often regarded as a mysterious being because he resembles no known creacher in the realm and seems to only involve himself with matters considering money or badges- which was a point of interest for creacher researchers.

Goldies signature skill is his ability to count at speeds so quickly that he can just look at a jar of coins and say the exact amount inside the jar. A simple power but maybe Agatha didn't know how to count.
